I lived in Japan for three years, and still work with Japanese embassy types occasionally. this is where they take visitors from Japan for authentic Japanese fare. Ambiance is also very authentic and charming. Best japanese experience in town. A bit expensive -- if you're looking for a cheap japanese meal, try Kotobuki upstairs in the same building -- best sushi deal in town, and -- I would wager -- on the east coast.
