We had a dinner for 5 on Oct 13, 2005. The food was fine, despite the restaurant being out of several key items like mozzarella cheese and creme brulee.
Our bill was ~$108 dollars. We had the waiter scan three credit cards for a total of ~$130 (ie approx 20% tip). We signed the receipts and indicated a $0 tip, since it was already included.
The waiter then changed the tip amount by $10 to further increase his tip ON EACH CARD. He thereby illegally received an additional $30 tip.
Business practices like this speak for themself; please eat elsewhere. The managment was unhelpful and admitted that this is a common practice to add to the tip amount for customers who undertip.
