Great food and cheaper than $5 subway footlongs!

My friends and I discovered Amici's a couple weeks ago and cant stop going there. My favorite is the Rachel which comes with more meat than 27 subway subs and if you combine it with the buy 2 get 1 free deal they always have after 5pm they end up being less than a $5 subway footlong!

Finally a place in Lansing with good Corned Beef and Pastrami! A great little spot to get lunch, watch the huge t.v. and relax for a few minutes before going back out into the real world. Nice people and a good location. I will be back, and the free coupons didn't hurt either.

    Way Overpriced!

I used to live in the NYC area, so I was happy to see that we had a NY deli here. Unfortunately, Amici's has NYC prices, but skimps on portion sizes and ingredients. My sandwich was almost eight bucks and that price does not include any sides. You'd think for that kind of money the sandwich was be good-sized, so imagine my surprise and disappointment when they brought out a very small sandwich on bread that didn't look much different from what your mom would use at home. The warm pastrami was good but there wasn't a lot of it, and the cheese was still cold. The pickle that came with my sandwich was disgusting and could barely even be called a pickle. It was more like a cucumber that had spent about twenty minutes in some vinegar. On the plus side, the interior is very nice and you can't even tell that it used to be an old Mr. Taco.

I don't recommend Amici's and I can guarantee you that we won't be going back.

I really wanted to support this new restaurant.

I'm not sure how Amici's manages to call its bread "rye" when it is very clearly white sandwich bread. It's like getting a deli sandwich on Wonder Bread, and I exaggerate only slightly. If they paid a bit more attention to to the quality of bread, they might have a novel thing going.

I will say that the people are very nice and the meat part of the sandwiches (pastrami and corned beef) is excellent.
