Bread Basket

We were referred to the Bread Basket for breakfast and their homemade bread. Indeed, the first thing our waitress asked was: "would you like a bread basket?" Not "coffee?"

Well, when it arrived we found four pieces of hot bread; two regular sized pieces of something that was reminiscent of whole wheat wonder bread and an end piece and a half of some kind of doughy cranberry white bread. This was unlike any kind of homemade bread that we have ever had or seen. Totally forgettable.

To their credit, the eggs and hashbrowns were done right and tasty. The coffee was plentiful and weak, typical diner coffee.

Breakfast for two, eggs/hashbrowns, bread coffee and tip was $18. Not a great value. While most places in this town are top dollar compared to the real world, there is much better breakfast and value elsewhere, like the Idyllwild Cafe--we'll be there next time.
