Save your money and go elsewhere - this place was a complete dining disaster - not to mention rude wait staff. Our appetizers were thrown together - the "homemade" soup was straight out of the blender - our entres where overcooked and sparse to say the least......run, don't walk. And this is all coming from a fellow Italian !!!!

Worst Italian in Palm Desert written by rick5370

Even though we had a reservation, we waited for 2-0 minutes for our table. Clearly the restaurant had overbooked. Service was unfriendly and slow for our drinks. The appetizers (2 shared by four) were non-descript and grossly overpriced. One of our group had a pasta dish that was adequate, nothing more. Two ordered a fish special and one a pork chop special. The fish specials were cold (not warm but cold) and basically tasteless. The pork was so tough that it was difficult to cut and almost impossible to chew. We complained and an unpleasant person came out from the kitchen and very pointedly told us that we knew nothing about cuts of meat and didn't realize that pork has a different texture than veal. The joke here is that my guest from New Zealand was a gourmet chief and owned two restaurants. We didn't finihs our meals, but just got up and left. Did I mention the service was non-existant? When there are great Italian restaurants like LaSpiza and Backstreet Bistro in Palm Desert, don't waste your time and money on Bellini. P.S. I'm guessing on the date of this visit, but it was in mid-November, 2005.
