Our family has been going there for years due to the fact that we could depend on getting a good meal with good service. The service was fine, but the chef and his/her cooking left a lot to be desired. One of our party had a chicken dish, it was great. But for the second time in a row now, the beef dishes were all over cooked. This was both for the Filet and the Prime Rib. In fact the Prime Rib was not only overcooked, but very strange in terms of consistency like no Prime Rib I ever had. It was very dense and not tender at all. I don't even think it was Prime Rib, but just a roast cut, at least that's what it seemed like to me. At 58 years old, I've had many a Prime Rib and Filet Mignon and these were simply not up to par. I would not normally complain like this on just one visit, but this has happened now twice in a row. To their credit, the manager gave us all free desserts, but that's not what we came for. If you want to go there, I would make sure that they understand what medium rare means, cause we got medium to medium well in 5 orders out of 8. The others had the shrimp dinner which they said was good.
This place has great steak for very cheap. My favorite is the prime rib although they are locally famous for their sizzler. The service is very good and freindly. The building is getting a little old and is in need of the remodel, but it isn't bad enough to distract you or anything. The atmosphere is basically that of a neighborhood bar, but relatively family-freindly, at least before 9 or 10.
Excellent steaks and prime rib! Always cooked to perfection and served with a smile. The sides dishes are a little on the normal/boring side, not bad, just nothing to write home to mom about. Go there for the steak or prime rib, you won't regret it!
