I have been to Chicago, I have had downtown deep dish... and I still say that Papa Dels is the best pizza in all of Illinois, and in fact the best I have had anywhere, period. Papa Dels Sicilian style deep dish is unbelievably good. The service at Papa Dels is average to poor, depending on how busy they are. And they do get very busy. The same can be said of the ambiance as they are on campus at the University of Illinois. As such you are often dealing with a larger and louder crowd. As well because of the style of food its often that you find yourself waiting as much as 50 minutes for your pizza... hey thats how long it takes to cook. Regardless its worth the wait and worth the noise. In fact its worth just about anything. Their prices aren't high and they could certainly by higher. I know I would pay. If you have never had Papa Dels Pizza you don't know what you are missing.
