We were up in the area for a funeral and it was late and my girlfriend and I decided too order from the only place open. When we called the person on the phone was ungodly rude, he didn't give us any options even though we asked for them. Then he said the bill was $21.xx. when we signed for the bill there was a $10.00 delivery fee. And we were also charged another $7.00 miscellaneous. Two days later when we looked at our credit card bill we called the store too speak with a manager to get the whole situation straightened out. The man on the phone was completely rude, did not let us speak to a manager and made my girlfriend cry he was so rude and improper. This place is a joke and a complete scam. DO NOT order from this place its not worth your time or your money.

Same as mentioned below... arrived late at a hotel, ordered a small pizza, was never given a total or any mention of delivery charge etc. Guy shows up 1 1/2 hour later... hands me a credit card reciept to sign for 37 dollars!!! I asked why 37 dollars? He said 26 for the pizza 9 for delivery plus tax! I was too hungry to argue... paid the 37 bucks and dug in... Pizza was nasty! Found out the next morning the delivery guy changed my total on my cc reciept to nearly 50bux!!! for a small Pizza!!!!!

We were staying at a hotel. After our friend's wedding we went to the hotel bar to have a drink. We were hungry..The guy at the bar gave us the number of Giuseppe's
WE ordered two appetizers and a large pizza ($53.71) They said the food will get there in an hour. An hour passes and no pizza Well, about 15 mins after they said they would be there we get a call saying the cook was running behind schedule and we will be there in 10mins. almost two hours later we get a pizza with our appetizers. The food was so cold and sick we didn't eat it. Then they close at 3am at 2am I called to complain and no one answered the phone. The next day I called to talk to the manager and I was on hold for 1/2 hour and we kept calling back and got no answer.
People are crazy if they even eat here....

Rip-off with a side of hair written by Emmylou

NEVER, EVER order pizza from Giuseppe's!!! We were staying at a hotel and got back late. Since not much was open we decided to order a pizza. When we called we found out we had to pay by visa because it was late and they have problems with drunk people ordering pizzas to wrong adrresses and not paying...ok fine whatever. So we order a pizza and the guy on the phone tells us, "Your piza will be there in 45 minutes and please don't beat up the delivery boy." So anyways I'm thinking why would someone beat up the delivery boy?...Well when the guy got there with our pizza(singular) the bill was $40 for one pizza!!!! $14 in delivery charges. Maybe if you don't want your delivery boy to get beat up you shouldn't charge so much for delivery!! Anyhow, we sign the bill and dig in. The pizza was too thin and over cooked so if you like eating cardboard you may actually like Giuseppe's pizza. That wasn't the worst part though. After eating a couple pieces of pizza we found two pieces of human hair in our pizza. DISGUSTING. Giuseppe's was a complete rip-off and you weren't even paying for good food. If I wanted to eat hairy cardboard I'd go look through people's garbage, at least it wouldn't cost $40.

Horrible written by jen

I had a horrible experience with a delivery from the Willowbrook location. They didn't for warn me of an extra $12.00 delivery charge, because it was after midnight and at a hotel. The pizza was cardboard thin, greasy, and very garlicky.

To medium pizzas cost $60.00 plus tip, It wasn't worth it! The phone guy was also rude!

Great pizza! written by NapervilleMom
Last visited this restaurant on May 22, 2008

Through another website, I stumbled on Guiseppe's (Guisseppe's?). Ok, I can't spell it, but I have enjoyed their pizza: fresh ingredients, intersting flavor in the crust that I still haven't quite figured out, and excellent eaten cold the next day. Unlike the copious (and clearly ridiculous) reviews disparaging the restaurant and its integrity, I've found them to be very courteous and helpful on the phone and delivery has been on-time each of the half-dozen times I've ordered.

Far better than many of the 'zas out there! I was pleasantly surprised by trying somewhere new, and hope you have the same experience.

can you say sybil? written by anonymous

i actually work for a hotel that giusseppes delivers to. the only...yes i said ONLY positive thing i can say is that at times, when a guest orders a pizza they bring a free small pizza for the front desk staff. i will say this...every time a guest has ordered from there, they are completely ripped off. yes it's awesome that they deliver until 3am when they want to; when guests tell me how much they paid & that some drivers have made racist comments that i've witnessed...i can't belive a place like this is still in business. now is the food good? don't even get me started on that. i'll give a simple no. we've stopped handing out their info late at night so no one gets scammed or ripped off. i read the only 2 positive comments on this entire page and they must have been made by the manager or employee...drunks are not the only people who eat at 2 am...i work nights and i eat...people's flights are late, they eat. if you know whats good for you, avoid giusseppes pizza. i'm surprised i haven't seen them on fox news.

Hotel guests and loser employees named Vince written by JoeGiuseppe

ALL complaints about Giuseppe's Pizza are either bogus (untrue), are from Hotel customers ordering after 12am who are intoxicated and out of town, or are former employees who were fired for one reason or another.

I am the owner of Giuseppe's Pizza. The complaints about my restaurant are OBVIOUSLY untrue. Having been in business for 12 years, we could not possibly have been here for so many years if we treated our customers poorly.

The review on Februay 8, 2008, was by an employee (we'll call him VT) that I was forced to terminate. VT had been warned on several occasions about problems with his work performance. Let's just say that not coming to work on time was the LEAST of his problems! All I can say about this person is that I tried my best to warn him about the dangers of taking illegal drugs. You would think that after 2 of his friends died of heroin overdoses in the past 2 years that he would cease taking drugs. Was I supposed to be impressed by him saying he has taken "over 200 hits of ecstacy"?? Not to mention the problem with getting thrown in jail for 30 days for "street racing" I feel sorry for your parents not that you are forced to move back in with them. I doubt it very highly if anyone can find a fired employee who will say they "liked their boss"!!! Good luck with your life VT. You'll need it.

If anyone doubts the sincerity of this review/response, then all I can say is call us and try us out. If you are reading this far into this review, then mention it when you call, and I or one of the other managers on duty (at either store- Naperville OR Willowbrook) will make you a FREE 10" pizza, up to 3 toppings.

That's what we call putting your money where your mouth is.

Thanks for reading.

Joe

Garbage written by joesanas

I used to work for this excuse of a resturaunt. It was garbage, by the way, the 10 dollar delivery charges dont go to the driver, the driver gets 3. There is no willowbrook location, the drivers dont get paid hourly, you dont want to eat the food cause its garbage. Also the manager is the jerk on the phone and he is the only person who answers the phone, so when he says its not hte manager its him. If anyone wants to place a lawsuit against him im sure you can. By the way he doesnt pay taxes to any of his drivers.

10 year VERY satisfied customer written by anonymous
Last visited this restaurant on January 19, 2008

How very interesting. I live in Naperville, and have been
a regular customer of Giuseppe's since we moved here in 1995. All of my neighbors and friends that order from Giuseppe's are MORE than satisfied with the service and food. In fact, they are well known throughout the Dupage county area for having the best pizza. The only reason that I am writing here is that I had to laugh at all of the "complaints". Is there any coincidence that the complainers are ALL FROM HOTELS??.. Think about it! What kind of people order pizza (or go thru a White Castle Drive thru) at 2am???.. DRUNKS and JERKS. When I go to Giuseppe's on Friday night for our weekly pizza fix, I can tell you it is ALWAYS PACKED!!

One more thing written by badpizza
Last visited this restaurant on November 30, 2007

One other thing I just thought of as a warning to all you hotel people, Joe over charges because he feels its ok to take advantage of drunk people & hotel guests because hotel guests aren't repeat customers. They're in town for a night or 2 & it doesn't matter if he screws them.

Here's what needs to happen:
-The BBB needs to be contacted again.
-The Naperville police need to get involved.
-The IRS needs to be contacted, he has no records of his employees because he pays under the table. How do you suppose it looks, he owns his own business, a delivery & carryout business yet to the government, he has no employees so how does he do it all? His bank records should also be checked because he doesn't report anything to the IRS including the 5 or so cars he has.
-The Health Dept. needs to shut him down.
-His ex-wife or girlfriend needs to be contacted.

Thanks for reading & I hope you help me close Giuseppe's doors for good. Next time I'm able to drive by his place, I hope it's closed.

SCAMMED written by jayinhtown
Last visited this restaurant on September 23, 2007

Same as the other reviews. We were staying at a hotel nearby for a family wedding. It was late and and no other pizza places were open. The lady at the front desk of the Comfort Inn gave us the number for Giuseppe's. I called to order 4 large cheese pizzas as we had quite a few people. I was never given the total amount or told about thr excessive delivery charges. I was told it would be about 45 minutes. After about 5 phone calls and an hour and a half later, the delivery guy with the biggest attitude arrives with the pizza as if he is diong me a favor. I look at the bill of about $165 and am completely appaled. I asked him how could they possibly charge that amount for large pizzas. He claims that these are no ordinary pizzas and that they are "Gourmet Pizzas" from a restaurant. I knew I was being scammed so my entire family told me to not accept the pizzas and decline the charges. When I told the delivery guy that I'm not accepting the pizzas, he began to use profane language and threatened me with physical violence. As soon as he left, I called my credit card company to not accept the charges, but it was too late they said so I filed a dispute for these charges. Two months later, I get a letter in the mail from my credit card company which contains a letter written by the owner of Giuseppe's. This letter is filled with complete lies and says how he was going out of his way and doing me a favor by delivering the pizza so late They close at 2:00 AM and I called at 1:10 AM to place th order, so how exactly is he doing me a favor. The biggest shock was a copy of the credit card receipt with $150 charges including a $11 tip and $ 8 deliver charges with a forged signature. He claims I signed the receipt and accepted the pizzas when in reality the signature is not mine (either the deliver guy or the owner) and we returned the pizzas. I've reported these charges as fraud to my credit card company and they'rew going to look into this further. This place is a complete scam!!!! The owner/manager are complete liars. Their entire goal appears to be to rip off people who are drunk and hungry during the late hours of the night. This place needs to be reported to the police and the BBB and should be shut down!!! Stay away from this place no matter how hungry you are at late night.

SCAMMED!!!! written by pinkfawn
Last visited this restaurant on August 08, 2007

This past weekend I was staying at a hotel in Burr Ridge for a wedding. We arrived at the hotel arround 1 a.m. We were pretty hungry, so we called the front desk to ask if he new of any pizza places oppened. Quickly he gave me the number to Giuseppe's Pizza. I called and placed my order and was told it would be $29.00 ( which I though was pricey to begin with for 1 pizza and breadsticks!). Only to find out they only accepted credit cards. But being as hungry as we were, I gave it to him. Over an hour goes by and we had no pizza. We call and are told the pizza will be there in 5 min. The pizza finally arrives over 2 hours late!! Then I'm told the pizza is $51.00! I come home the next day and look at my statement and am shocked to see that it is charged for 60 dollars! I tried all weekend to get a hold of this "pizza place" but no answer. Finally 2 days go by and I get an answer. I ask how much a pizza would cost and "Denise" says " Well the prices may vary." I then ask "What if I want to pick the pizza up." He answers, " You can't do that!" Needless to say, he was no help. I then called the hotel and explained it to their "Assistant Manager." Whom tells me "Don't worry ma'am I'll report it to the police." After about a one hour conversation, I have concluded that he is on this scam. We asked him to no longer hand out this phone number, and he replys " Ma'am I can't assure you that if people come in here late at night that that number won't be handed out again!" I am contacting the Burr Ridge and Naperville police, the BBB, as well as the Hotel president. This place is FAKE! These people WILL be caught!

Worst service on earth! written by anonymous

Same story as most of the other reviews. Got in late to a hotel, the desk clerk gave us the name of this place, we ordered a 16" pizza and guess what...It arrived at the hotel 2 hours later, cold and disgusting. This place should be shut down and demolished.

I have never had an experience with a business that was so infuriating. First of all, it took an hour and a half for the pizzas to be delivered. Then the delivery guy handed me the wornd receipt, which I signed, then realized that it was not my order, so I voided my signature. Then he gave me the correct receipt, which was for 98.23. I signed for 108.23, which was overly- generous, as far as I'm concerned. I checked my bank account on Monday to find that not only was I charged for both orders, but I was also charged $10 more than I authorized on one of the orders. I am strongly considering going to the Better Business Bureau about these people. I can't imagine their business practices can be legal.

WE'RE HOOKED! written by Jeff
Last visited this restaurant on April 20, 2005

My wife and I had a late night party with guests that lasted past midnight.. our guests were hungry and we called our regular pizzeria restaurant, Giordano's.. but they were closed. We called Giuseppe's and was greeted with a friendly, helpful phone person. We ordered 2 large stuffed pizzas and 2 18" Family size pizzas. They arrived at the promised time of 45 minutes and were OUTSTANDING!!.. We order every Friday now from them. We would have never found them had they not been open so late.
