I am a proffessional woman in my 30's and (about twice a month) I get an evening out with a friend of mine. We usually go to the near-by Paul Rever's Tavern. Just some time away from the house and kids. We cause no trouble, we chat with some people (many of whom we know or know member's of our families), sometimes play some pool and go home. We usually drop quite a bit of money too. Often there is a lady, or, a young man at the bar. Both are very pleasant. Last night, however, there was an older man waiting on us. I'm not sure if he is the manager or the owner. Whatever the case, he has taken a great dislike to my friend and I. He was quite short with us from the start. most of the people that we were talking to rolled thier eyes at him, waved a hand and said to ignore him. So, we did. At some point, a young woman (who works in a similar line of work to my own) came over with her friend and chatted with me. We have spoken a few times before. She asked me for my number. We began to exchange numbers. At this point, the bar man points and shouts at us. He tells her not to give me her number. My friend and a few others come to my defense. I ask what I have done. He would not answer me. This was really unnecessary and humiliating. We exchanged numbers anyhow and she left. He was OBVIOUSLY flustered and quite upset by me. He then walked away from the bar. we finished our drinks and left. How weird to be insulted by someone that you are giving untroubled, good business to. What "ism" was causing him to be so odd? We won't be going back again. We will continue our complaints
The service is great and it's just a nice place to meet friends for a drink.
Paul Revere's is a great place to meet up with friends for dinner and a drink. The owner and staff are always friendly and attentive, giving Paul Revere's a hometown feel. I would recommend ordering the cheese and crackers as an appetizer before your meal arrives... the staff will take out a huge block of cheese and cut it right before your eyes! Paul Revere's never gets too busy, so you are always sure to find a table, or you could try sitting around the circular bar. There are TVs to watch, so you can still catch the big game while you are hanging out. There is always plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend Paul Revere's to my friends who are looking to hang out in a place with a hometown feel.
