Restaurant Reviews of Gill's Diner
Well, I got filled up written by

I ordered the nightly special, the Pork Chop, for $6.95, got soup (included, homemade, and very good), and bread with crackers (the bread slices came individually plastic wrapped, a new one to me, but it did keep them from drying out, and if not used, they could be safely given to the next patron). The chop finally arrived, very slow (esp. since it was the 'special'), and was distinctly average, at best, somewhat dried out, with a scattering of cooked carrots on the over-large plate. Not much presentation, food was ok, price ok, too, but I probably would have been better off odering the regular two Pork Chop dinner for $7.95, and taking one home. The front part of the diner is the SMOKING section, so I had to traverse all the puffers to get to the back, where a TV on the wall perched. What is it with TVs in resturants anyway? I find this trend highly annoying. A large menu (printed on plastic, and needing cleaning), a diverse selection, but I suspect many items would be frozen. I've been there before, and will go again, but not when in a hurry, or when I want more than average diner food. The waitress was nice, and kept my water glass full, even though it was busy at 6pm.
