..eaten. I went to the newer Mexico City on Wood about a month ago. I was excited because the Mexico City Grill in Indianapolis is spectacular and I was hoping against hope that it might be just a shadow of the Grill. I was wrong in every sense of the word.
First the atmosphere: Its no better than sitting in a bus station. The tables are placed in a real hodge-podge. It looks like people are sitting and waiting for anything other than food.
The service was very good all the way through.
Now the food: I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu (Something with mushrooms) and I have no words to describe the abomination that came back from the kitchen. It wasn't just disgusting, it was old and mushy and greasy and spoiled. I don't think that I've ever had anything like that in my entire life. I took three bites and knew that I had to get the heck out of there. They offered something else but I could not have been less interested. I even offered to pay for the chips and salsa (also unlike any that I've eaten). But they turned me down. Good service.
But I'll never be back.
Why can't a Carlos O'Kelly's come to town? That was GREAT Tex-Mex!
