Senor Tequilas is probably the best mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The Food is great,(the tacos the best tasting tacos in the world)they have good service, and the employees are fun to be around. The jukebox in the bar sounds greatand has tons of songs-2 songs for 1$-and the employees actually dress up and sing with maracas on your birthday! Take my advice;if you're looking for authenticity, good atmosphere, and great food, Senor Tequila should be at the top of your list!
Although this practice is not limited to Senor Tequila's, I did notice that all the employees share in bussing tables, picking up dirty/used napkins, pick slop up off the floor THEN have the audacity to go in the kitchen and without bothering to wash hands with soap, bring your food order to the table. I watched as one bus boy sneezed into his hands, wiped his nose, then went into the kitchen without washing his hands and served food. His attitude was poor, also, as if he is pissed off for having to work or something. As stated, I see this type of unclean practice at many restaurants but somehow it glared at Senor Tequila's. But, hey, They're salsa is to die for and I don't know where they get those chips. Yow.
As many have stated with Senior Tequilas, the food is good and atmosphere is nice. Problem is, the owner has a very unprofessional attitude and really becomes upset when you want to see an itemized bill. On three occasions, he or the staff have added drinks to the bill in an effort to obtain monetary gain. Never again will I dine there. Yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back and solidified their dishonest practice. My advice, pay as you drink at the bar or write down the drinks you had if you plan on leaving an open tab. That way, you will have proof of your purchasing.

What a place, BEST Mexican food I have ever had, I drive 50 miles to get there. Service is "Fair". I think it is the whole Siesta attitude.....
Carne ala Mexicana is the BEST, and the Margaritta's are fantatic. VERY friendly people, Palo the Owner is a great person and remembers people after a few visits.

I used to frequent the Senor Tequila's in Joliet, then we started going the Willowbrook location. There Carne Asada is amazing. My friend and I call it our little secret and go for the margaritas, carne asada and to hang with the bartender Aaron, he is great. We always have a great time and are never disappointed.

I live in the area and I have dined here on several occasions, as well as ordered take out. The food is good. Its not FANTASTIC, but its pretty good. There are not a lot of Mexican restaurants (except the plastic chains: Chilis, Pepe's, etc) in the area, so I'd say the food is pretty good in comparison.
However, the service seems to deteriorate more and more each time I visit. The last time I was there, my friend and I had to practically run down our waiter (who was also the bartender) because he was too busy having a good time and doing shots with his friends up at the bar to check on his tables.
We did get the "we will drive you home" speech and encouraged to drink....but, after our first round it seemed no one could be bothered to give us a refill had we wanted it....
I have eaten here many times with friends and/or family and have never been disappointed. I too am very surprised with the poor reviews given. I love mole sauce and find this is a sign of authentic mexican food and theirs is very very good. Also, another sign of authentic food is the salsa which I find to be outstanding as well. Service is friendly, they don't rush you but you don't wait forever either. The Margs are fantastic - pace yourself though. Enjoy

I think the food here is just fantastic. And if you like--or never have had--carne asada. Get it here. Its the best around. I recommend it to everyone I know..
No complaints about anything else. For a Mexican restaurant with a thoroughy un-authentic name, its surprisingly good.
I've been going there since it opened (after El Barro closed). I've taken several friends there and all have had a good experience. When Mexican food is the destination, this is where we meet. I've never had any of the bad experiences I read here. The food is very good, the service is great and the atmosphere is good. The only bad thing I can say about it is their chairs are uncomfortable if you stay and chat, which it seems we always do. My girfriends and I seem to meet there more often than anyplace else. I guess that speaks for itself.
Favorite dish is the filet. The steak is SOOOOO tender! It's too much to eat in one sitting so I get leftovers to take home. YUM! And they have great Margaritas!

My wife and I have eaten here about once a week for the past year and a half. When we walk in we are always greated pleasantly. We get fantastic service from all employees. They do offer drinks a lot, but I feel it is out of courteousy not to pressure. The food is great, but the margaritas are even better. It has a nice atmosphere, and is very clean. I suggest that you go.

I have been frequenting Senior Tiquila for years, and I have to say that
I have NEVER had a bad experience. Quite the contrary, I have had fun and
memorable times there, and ALWAYS great Mexican food...not the generic stuff....authentic. I love their #6 combination plate that includes a fabulous strip steak along with many other traditional samples. It's been my experience that it's very consistantly good. Some of the other reviews that are posted here really surprise me. I guess they must have been looking for a different experience. If you're up for a fun time, and are looking for someplace that is festive, has good food, and friendly service, Senior Tiquila is it. I recommend it! You'll have a great time...if that's what you're up for!!

Basically we tried for the first time. Beginning was fine with appetizer and drinks ok. Then the dinner came and my wife and kids did not like the taste of the meat. Fine. They were able to eat everything else. But here is the kicker...they charged us $33.80 but on my Visa statement is has $40.56! Never again....

This was the first time my husband and I had ever gone to this restaurant and had no idea of it, but we said we would take a chance. Not only did we tip for carry-out but we never questioned the moral fiber of this please. We were very disappointed to find out we had been over charged, not once, but twice. A overcharge bill that came to $31.10 for 3 chicken & 3 Beef tacos and 1 order of steak fajitas, we tip $3.00 for a total of $34.10, but upon checking my bank statement noticed I had been charged $40.92 total. Not to leave out the food was not very good, but the dishonesty is what sickens us the most. I would never return and I would never suggest this place to anyone.
This Mexican restaurant location keeps changing its name and staff (every time it changes names), but eventually everything returns to business as usual! While the food is good, the service is not attentive or friendly - until it's time to run the bill up with hard liquor. The waiter even suggested we buy him a drink!!! It was like eating with a high-pressure car salesman at the controls! No thanks! We won't be back. It was a very uncomfortable experience.

Food is good. Less than great but good none the less good. Tha appetizer I had was very good.
Management seems nice until they continuously prod you to drink and drink more because they will "drive you home".
Nice service but please drop the hard sell. I personally felt manipulated and a bit uneasy with the experience.

I had actually been a regular at this resturant for a few months, going in at least once a week. The food was fine but the manager and owner where very friendly. They kept insisting that me and my friends come in for a Sunday brunch. One Sunday 3 of us decided to go and where turned away by the owner and manager who held there arms crossed and said we couldn't eat because one of us had a shirt with out sleeves (he was not wearing a tank top). Being turned away because of the attire is not appropriate is one thing, but the fact that there had not been a problem with it before and in the extremly rude way we where told was not called for. We didn't argue we just left and have not and will not return there again. The food is expensive and nothing to brag about. I would frequent the establishment for the enviornment and good service that apparently is now non exsisting at this resturant.
