the staff is amazing. the food is also pretty great. i'm not a big fish person, but every dish that i have had there, i have finished. i never walk out of there hungry. maybe a little broke, but that's too be expected when dining out in a place that serves such great food.
Service was poor; we waited 45 minutes for food after ordering. My meal was awful; their house sauce was bitter and inedible. I waited for the server to return and ask how the food was, but she returned in about 15 minutes to ask if we were finished. Absolutely no reason to eat here: AVOID.
My experience at Mitchell's Fish Market was OK. We were seated right next to the bar, so people were walking back and forth right next to our table the whole night. Two of the servers also had an extended personal conversation at the waiter's station, right next to our table. Other than the noise and crowd, the atmosphere and service was pretty good.
The food was on the expensive side, and the portions were small, but it tasted pretty good. I enjoyed the shrimp and a crab cake, which came with mashed potatoes and a corn saute. For dessert, I ordered the creme brulee, which was well worth the price! I was presented with a creamy, delicious, LARGE creme brulee, topped with fresh strawberries and a side of orange shortbread.
I would recommend Mitchell's Fish Market to anyone who enjoys quality seafood, or who wants a nice place to go for drinks and dessert!
We've been to Mitchell's many times. Usually as a couple, but occasionally with a small group of friends. The food has always been excellent. The ambiance rating would be much higher, but the last couple of times we were in there we had problems with fruit flies. Highly recommended to all.
I've been here several times for both lunch and dinner and always had a good experience. The food is pretty good and is worth trying.
They have a patio that's open in the summer and I've never had to wait long for a table. They have a bar area, but it's completely separate from the rest of the restaurant and seems out of place.
The service during my last visit was disappointing. Nothing terrible, but our waiter seemed to have trouble focusing on the task at hand.
We got the clams for an appetizer and they were good but definitely not worth the $10 we paid for them. This seems to be the one downside to Mitchell's, like most restaurants in Eastwood it's a little expensive for what you get.
Have beent to Mitchells over 25 times since they have opened, with just two of ua and with as many as eight. Waitstaff has always been friendly and prompt, and no charge for splitting a meal. Favorites include raw Ahi tuna and Ginger Crusted Salmon (formerly Wasabi Salmon and still plenty spicy). We also like the beefsteak tomato salad, and often go for the creme brulee. The bigger cold seafood sampler (oysters & etc.) is not worth the cost. We have tried a dozen main dishes, and have never been disappointed (though we have honed in on a few favorites). Treating waitstaff with respect and courtesy seems to always pay off...here and elsewhere.
The other reviewers didn't seem to like this place. However, I have been to Mitchell's at least 20 times, always had great service, friendly and attentive. The food is to die for! Outside of Maine or Hawaii, this is the best fish I've had!
High priced, in my opinion, yes.
However, I am not a big fish person.
I like this place as it is clean, staff is very friendly/helpful and there is plenty of parking.
This place gives me the feel of actually eating in a Boston fish market. I like that.
Smokers are segregated! I like that also.
Ordered Fish & Chips Very Good Not Great Very Good Service. Fish a Slight Disappointment Have had Better!
Overrated and overpriced, the food at Mitchell's ranges from very good to downright awful. But it's the service that makes this place an absolute disaster -- I've been there only twice, and both times my order (and/or my date's) has been dramatically wrong, and the last time, the rudeness of the staff to correct it and bring me what I ordered was outrageously unprofessional. This place is horrendous. You want better tasting, better prepared fish, served by people who know what they're doing? Try Cadillac Club or Bravo. But don't go here.
