What? No dessert?!? written by

Last visited this restaurant on February 22, 2005
`We ate at Macaroni Grill late in the evening - came in the restaurant just after 9:30pm. When we asked if they were about to close, we were told, "We close at 10pm, but it's no problem, we can service your family of four." So, we stayed and the food and service was great...for the most part. Here's the bee in my bonnet, however...we have two children - ages 8 & 11 - on the kid's menu it shows that their meals included vanilla ice cream with chocolate topping for dessert. When it came time for dessert and we inquired about it (something that kids look forward to more than the meal!!) we were told that they had "shut down and locked up the ice cream area," and "Sorry, there's nothing I can do." No compensation for this...imagine the disappoint of my children. Our service and food was good until that point, however, we would not return because of this incident. In my opinion, if you are going to service customers, you DO NOT shut down all operations until the last guests are finished completely.
