Food was good but we were on our way to a show, let the waitress know about it and still waited an hour to get the food. Told the waitress to just bring the food in a doggy bag and we'd catch mcdonalds on the way to the show. Manager comped the meal without a fuss but we were extremely dissapointed that a four star restaurant could slip up on the service like that.
This is a great place to dine. I have been back many, many times. It is by far my favorite Italian Restaurant. I have taken several relatives and it has become THE place to go. The lasagna is great, as is the Wood-Grilled Chicken Pizza as an appetizer. We also love the Wedding Soup. I haven't had a meal that I didn't enjoy no matter what I ordered. My son and I have come in just for coffee and dessert and that was also wonderful. When my brother from Flint comes to stay, his visit is not complete without a trip to Bravos! He will even make a special trip and bring friends just to dine at this restaurant.
I have been to Bravos several times. The food has ALWAYS been excellent, as well as the service. It is a chain restaurant and I think people need to keep that in mind, but for a chain its great. I think that people make WAY to much of the fact that some people were ill after eating at Bravo's last month. Last I had heard, they believe the illness came from the lettuce (lettuce is a very common carrier of foodborne illnesses). And the woman who had the audacity to sue Bravos claimed that when she supposedly witnessed previous violations, she reported them to the manager on duty and that was it. If her career revolves around food safety, wouldn't she take further steps if she REALLY witnessed violations before the illnesses occurred, such as contacting the corporation directly, or maybe the health department (isn't that what they are there for?). I think it sounds like just another person trying to get their name in the news and make a quick buck.
At least 360 people have reported becoming ill after eating at Bravo on May 7th, and had inspection violations that were probably neglected.
A consultant who helps restaurants address food safety issues has filed a lawsuit against the company that owns Bravo Cucina Italiana. She became ill after eating a carryout salad from the restaurant on May 7.
The suit was filed Monday on behalf of Pattie McNiel, who coordinates Michigan State University’s food safety program and who also runs her own consulting business. McNiel became ill the same afternoon she was working with another Ingham County restaurant that had been cited for violations.
my favorite is the penne pasta with shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce. it is just excellent. i have been back to bravo's 3 times, i live about 50 miles away and am looking forward to my next visit. our server was eric, who was very personable, prompt and helpful. he even remembered my name as i had told him about the rest of my party i was waiting for. that is a first. he was top of the line wait person. the restaurant is pleasant, attractive and unique. just a comfortable dining experience.
Good food that is well prepared but in my view it is overrated for the price.
Service was fine, I just really think the food is unexceptional.
I went to Bravo for a business dinner with 5 co-workers and found the food to be below-average, even for a cheesy chain-type place. My salad was over-dressed and limp and my entree (a ravioli) was gluey and overly salty. Better off opening a can of Chef Boyardee and staying home.
Bravo is by far the best Italian restaurant in the area. I LOVE to go there (usually when the other party is paying!!!). Their food is fresh and always wonderful. The servers are usually more than competant. It is obvious that they aim to please.
The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The food is the best Italian that I've experienced, especially in Lansing. One time I ordered the special, and I didn't care for it, so it was comped and I also got my choice of one of their desserts! That made everything just fine with me!
i love bravo. the seared ahi tuna steak is friggin awesome. too busy though...but all the restaurants in eastwood are like that, which is sad, because this place could be so romantic if it were smaller and in a different location.
Flawless food, great service, good prices. I can't say enough positive things about Bravo! The only thing that keeps this place from getting a perfect 10 from me is the often long wait times and Eastwood's idiot-designed inadequate parking.
