Pete's Calli is what Chicagoans call a Greek restaurant. That doesn't mean it specializes in Greek food, but rather has a Greek proprietor and a wide selection of foods from a variety of cuisines - including Greek!
My favorite is the perennial Gyros Special - served on pita in a basket with fries, onions, tomato, and tangy tzatziki sauce. The hamburger special is cooked to order and a very good choice, too.
The beef ribs are very popular, as are Mexican and Italian specialties.
If you like buffalo (the kind that don't provide buffalo wings), you are in luck, as Pete's sells low fat buffalo burgers and steaks. They also sell Noni juice, if you need a Tahitian boost!
Beer is available on tap and by the bottle - and is quite cold and inexpensive!
The ambiance is kind of industrial, but no frills are necessary for this type of place - you are there for good inexpensive food! This place is a favorite with nearby O'Hare employees and it's typical to see some Border Patrol, Customs Agency, and DHS uniforms. A couple of TVs playing sports are on all the time, and there's a brisk business in Lotto tickets, too. There's a drive through window, too - just don't try to yell over a jet's roar - wait 'til you can speak normally!
