Restaurant Reviews of Petey's Bungalow Lounge

Petey's is the best restaurant on the South Side written by tblash

We always have an excellent dining experience at Petey's Bungalow - we can see why it's one of the oldest restaurants in Oak Lawn. The appetizers are great - one of my favorites is their saganaki. Love their Grecian style steaks (their extra cut filet is one of my favorites) and seafood - - excellent flavor and incredible portions! I also love their chicken dishes--like the chicken vesuvio and the fried chicken, and the thick broiled pork chops. Another favorite is their baby back ribs -- the most tender in town. When I'm looking for something on the lighter side or a late night snack, one of my favorites is their famous Petey burger --the best burger in town! Everything is so delicious, I always have a hard time deciding what to order.

Great place for carryouts after a long day at work, too! (Sure beats fast food for dinner! We do about 2 carryouts a week from Petey's.)

We also like to hangout at the bar for a cocktail or two to unwind after work -- the bartender is great and the drinks are reasonably priced.

Excellent food! Great prices! Friendly atmosphere --everyone makes us feel at home at Petey's. Great place to entertain out of town guests or business associates.

Pricey Garbage written by anonymous

The folks ordered steaks, the only safe bet on the menu. My husband and I had talapia. The fish was grilled and presented dripping in butter with no apparent seasoning...just two hunks of fish on a plate. The wine was barely fit for consumption. They prices are upscale but the food is awful. After a few bites our talapia went into the garbage can.
