Classic Place for Hamburgers written by

This place has been here for almost forever, serving up reasonbly priced food. We had the cheeseburgers and fries, plus a wonderful chocolate malt. The malt was too big for the glass, and the extra came in the metal mixer. Two cheeseburgers, one order of fries and the malt was about $10. They have the original drug-store stools and counter, but we sat in one of the front window seats, watching the cars go by. Old, and showing its age, the Parthenios is not the place to bring a first (or second) date. But, if you want reasonable food, the classic old store atmosphere (complete with pressed-tin ceiling and original floor), this is the place. I don't think they are open for dinner. And, it is obvious most of the clientele is very local, as most people knew each other. A small place, but a classic in Rockford.
