Restaurant Reviews of Ophelias Cup

Don't expect to get a belly full as the portions are small. You will be hungry again in a couple hours.
Is a neat place to go to at least once or twice.
The food does have flavor, which many places don't have anymore.
So I would say try it at least once, then you can decide on your own.

My favorite place! written by Don

What a find! Nestled in the sleepy little town of Olney Illinois, Ophelia's cup is a surprisingly hip and trendy place to hang out. From the time you walk in the door the atmosphere just makes you feel relaxed and happy. The Sirius Sattelite radio offers up great music when local musicians aren't providing the tunes for everyone to enjoy. Plenty of seating from traditional table and chairs, to couches and tall pub tables. Of course they offer wireless internet, board games, and several interesting books and puzzles. Music and laughter is encouraged. The coffee selection is fantastic! My personal favorite is "Jamaican Me Crazy" but there is so much to choose from that you could order something new each time and never try them all. I acquired a taste for espresso on our trips to Europe and for some reason, Americans can't seem to get it right (ok, maybe Starbucks does!) but Ophelia's espresso rivals any that I have had in France or Italy. The food is very good also. The menu is fairly simple including sandwiches, salads and soups but simple does not mean ordinary. Each homemade item is delightfully different and always has that special something that makes me say "WOW!". Save room for dessert though! The selection of homemade cakes ranges from Red Velvet to Carrot Cake to Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate. The service is quick and efficient and servers are relaxed and pleasant. I believe they truly like to be there. Of course it is understood that you will have to pay a little higher prices for a place like this, but not at Ophelia's. I was floored by the prices! I do not mind paying more for a place like this but I certainly do not mind paying less. Heck, it gives me the opportunity to be a big tipper and not feel tapped out. Would I come back? Would I recommend it to my friends? You have got to be kidding!! I hope see you there soon!

A Little Spot of Cool in Olney written by ivygreen

Who knew that Olney would have people in it hip and forward-thinking enough to open a fabulous place like Ophelia's? Even more of a surprise--that there are enough people who "get" the eclectic heaven that is Ophelia's to keep it not only open and surviving but THRIVING! I've traveled all over the country and the only coffee joint I enjoyed more was in D.C.--but it had a bookstore and liquor license in there, too. On my twice-yearly visits home I make a point of having lunch at Ophelia's with my sisters, and sometimes even my grandmother. We all love the place!
