Excellent mom-n-pop type independent pizza place. No delivery yet, but great for both dine-in and carry out. It's along the busy West 38th street corridor, just West of Georgetown Road, and it's on the South side of 38th Street. You can enter that strip mall via 38th street, or via Georgetown Road. Dining area is large, so it's suitable for big groups.
The ambience is not much but they have a HUGE big screen TV. It's very clean, including the men's room.
The owners are from either India or Pakistan. All the meat they serve, chicken and beef, is "halal/zabihah", which means it's legal or "kosher" for Muslims. So if you're a pork/sausage fan, you won't find those toppings here.
I love the crust of the "California style" pizza. It's crispy on the bottom, and light/delicate on top. It's not the thick chewy "industrial" dough that you find at most of the big chain pizza places. The toppings are cut smaller than most places, but they are generously applied.
My favorite pizza so far is the Indian pizza with ginger spice. Yeah, ginger, who'd have thunk that was a good pizza topping? But I liked it.
They have several styles of pizza to choose from:
1) standard american pizza with red sauce and cheese and you choose the toppings (all standard toppings except pork/sausage)
2) Beef or Chicken combo pizza, with red sauce or a white creamy garlic sauce.
3) Specialty pizzas: Vegetarian with Ginger (Indian Style) and Chicken Tikka (Pakistani style) pizza.
They also offer "chappli" bugers and kebabs, but I haven't tried those yet.
The menu includes other standard American pizza shop fare: cheese sticks, wings, potato wedges, curley fries, onion rings, garlic bread, green salad, Philly steak sub, New York steak sandwich, cheeseburgers, oven baked chicken, and fried chicken pieces.
Hours are from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
