Restaurant Reviews of Crumpets

Want to go there on my own written by justaguy

I had an excellent experience at Crumpets with a group to which I belong. The Millers, who own the restaurant, served us a delicious meal, were very friendly but respected the privacy of our gathering appropriately. I want to go there again on my own and sample more of the wonderful-sounding selections on the menu. I thank this family for bringing there friendly restaurant and delicious food to this area of Lansing. I hope everyone finds this little out-of-the-way place so it can grow and prosper and stay.

the staff was rude, and the food was over priced for small portions. i felt uncomfortable in it's overwhelmingly white christian themed environment (read CMT on the tvs), and felt it was out of place in a neighborhood that is predominately poor and black. if thier church wanted to do outreach, they should do it by building up the community, not trying to take it over.

I think I was in Crumpets when barrrrrista was there. In all fairness to Crumpets I have been a regular almost since they opened and never have I been treated rudely. Also I have always had more then enough food for my money. Great food at that. That day while I was there, there seemed to be someone who acted mad at the world. That's why I think it must have been barrrrrista. Also since there might be a few bible quotes around it's nothing intimidating. Maybe to someone that's not happy with themselves.
Also the racist comments are just way out of line about Crumpets and even the area! Grow up barrrrrista!
I will keep going there, great job Crumpets!!!!!!!!

More than worth it written by shelshock91

Just had lunch at Crumpets for the first time today. Both me and my friend were very impressed with our food. We both chose the soup and sandwich combo along with a strawberry limeade that was delicous. And a great value for under $8! The potato soup was rich & creamy and the sandwiches were very tasty. It is a little off the beaten path which just helps to add to the charm and character of the place. I will go back for the great food, friendly service and charming atomosphere.

Unique sandwiches and good cupcakes! written by ksutter

I stay in Lansing during the work week and love to have a weekly "California-Style Sandwich." The flavor is excellent and the design on the grill is unique. I can never resist a freshly baked cupcake or brownie to go with it. It's quick, tastes good, and is a great value. Supper for under $7.00!! Beat that..
Also, I have no affiliation or reason to write this review except that it's true and I would like to see it stay. I've heard businesses have struggled in this area. Support your City!! Grab a "To Go" and take it to Durant Park for a lunch in the park!

I don't generally run out and write reviews of local restaurants, but Crumpets is so new, and this veggie sandwich so tasty, that I absolutely had to. Crumpets is a little cafe two blocks north of LCC. It has a small selection of grilled sandwiches and fresh salads, as well as a small selection of coffee beverages.

Don't let the limited assortment fool you: this is fresh, well-prepared food. Their new grilled vegetable sandwich, served on a bed of greens, is fantastic, and you get more than a plateful's worth of food for what you pay. The service is friendly and cheerful.

The atmosphere is cozy and carefully eclectic. The walls are decorated with antique photos (I should have asked if they were family portraits). I've not had a chance to try the wireless yet, but I plan on it.

The cupcakes are all homemade, and they even have a tasty butter pecan variety. The single--albeit understandable--downside is their limited hours--mornings(6:30) through early evening (5:30) on weekdays, and 7:30-2:30 on Saturdays. Still, if you want a nice lunch (I have yet to stop in for breakfast, so I can't vouch for that), Crumpets is a friendly, tasty place to go. I hope that doesn't sound like faint praise, because it's not.

(All of that, and you get the knowledge that you're supporting small, independent business.)
