We have visited this restaurant several times. The last visit will be just that...the last visit. Our cook was obviously inexperienced (he set some items on the table on fire!!) On top of that, he didn't understand English!! One of our guests didn't even get served!! The management's response, "I don't owe you anything".

Don't spend yout money there. That's all they want you to do. They don't take the customer experience as their responsibility.

A Need for Better Service And Better Attitudes written by mawmosh

Hamadas by far has the best Japanese cuisine, but the service and the attitudes are ALWAYS more than dissapointing. I am a loyal customer because of the food but I hate to go because the attitudes of (get this) the "management" is horrible. I pray that the owners of this establishment take the commentaries left by their customers seriuosly. It is important to be pleasant and attentive to your guest. The previous comments about the waitresses are very true, they come and leave and you have to search for someone . . anyone to get something as small as a refill. Then they want to charge a gratuity for services that are NOT pleasing.The manager has gotten angry when I have refused to pay their "suggested" gratuity and chosen to give the gratuity of my choice. I dont understand anyone having the omitigated ordasity to think that I am going to pay ANYONE for neglect and bad treatment.Again I reccomend the food, its delicious but I have gotten better service at Mc Donalds and local hot dog stands. Normally when you recieve less than wonderful service there is a considerate manager that comes along, offers an apology and makes things well, but you really cant expect much from the staff when Mangement is on a regular basis extremely disrespectful and short. As long as the food is good I will continue to dine at Hamadas and as many times I have to set management straight for their bad attitude and service I will.When I leave my money is perfect( and trust me I spend a lot of money with this establishment) and gives Hamadas no problems I expect the same of their service.(Oh! If there are any typos please forgive me but he who is completely without typing errors cast the first stone.)

I have been going to Hamada for a few years and it is the only japanese food place that has had big portions of very good food. If you want to go to hamada, make a reservation, so you dont have to wait so long! And if you forget to make a reservation dont get pissed because if its busy, then you know the food is good. The servers at Hamada have a very busy job. Dont get pissed if they dont stand by your table like an ihop, its complettely different.

A large group of us went to the Hamada in Tinley Park. The food was very good. The service, on the other hand, was not. Our waitress came gave us our drinks and took our order. When the food came, she kind of disappeared. She didn't even tell us her name and wasn't wearing a name tag...I notice those kind of things... When a friend of mine asked her what the easiest way to hold a chopstick is, she was very short and impatient with us. It was our first time eating sushi...I was not impressed with the service there. The atmosphere was not pleasant. Another couple that we knew were asked to leave just because they were, for the most part, finished eating. It was very unprofessional. The group s that were there were not rude or loud. As for the food, it DID meet my expectations. The service from the staff DID NOT meet my expectations. I would return to another Hamada, but not the one in Tinley Park.

this dinner was like really good and i am VERY picky about eating but i have to say i was very impressed. yea there is a lot of places to eat in tinley but if you're looking for a great japanese food meal,great ambiance,and it is VERY healthy!! so go to hamada and enjoy because you WiLL get you're money's worth!! :]

The service at Hamada in Tinley Park, IL was awful!!!!! The management had an "I don't care" attitude and was clearly only worried about getting paid. I would like to note that on their menu they proudly state that they have the right to change their prices at anytime without prior notification. If you want expensive so-so sushi and japanese food with horrible service then you will love Hamada Tinley Park!

It is great i love it the food it was fast and fresh the chef was also funny did so many trick. my friends enjoyed it alot i will for sure go back again!!!!!! the restaurant was also warm and inviting not crowded anyone would enjoy to go family or friends it the place to go when your in the suburbs.

the place was good but we had to wait a long time to get our seat and even thought it was a lot of people it was still unacceptable. and it pissed me off bt still food was good i give the place a 4/5 we got every thing we wanted it was worth the money.

First let me say..i absolutely love this place..the food was delicious the staff was attentive..the waiter had us laughing and kept us well entertained..my daughter's bday is coming very soon and we plan to celebrate at hamadas!! and let me make a comment to kittymanmo..whatever your name is.before u try to lecture someone regarding their spelling..maybe you should learn what words go exactly where in a sentence..i'm pretty sure you meant "that"instead of "then"..check yourself first sweetie..cause that wasnt cute!

This is a great place to eat! Great chefs, great service, awesome food! Very entertaining for all ages and we usually bring home GREAT leftovers for breakfast haha. You have to get plenty of noodles, they rock! Sushi Bar is phenominal as well make this a top priority of choices for dinner!

Excellent Food and Service written by nf1

The experience here was absolutely wonderful. I make it my business to try and visit them every 2 weeks. The food is delicious and you get alot for your money. The service was great I really have become aquainted with the staff, they even remember what I like to order. You can't ask for more. Also when you go to a restaurant make sure you know what you suppose to get for lunch and dinner before you try to complain. I will continue to dine here.

Excellent dinner at Hamada written by anonymous

We visited Hamada for my daughters birthday. Without reservations we enjoyed the garden outside while we waited only 30 minutes on a Saturday night. The food was fantastic, tender and delicious. The chef was amazing. The waiter made a special birthday card with calligraphy writing. Highly recommend! Well worth the money!

After tsking our orders and giving us our beverages our waitress just disappeared. We asked her to bring over two booster seats but she never returned. We had to actually get up and find them ourselves. I ordered plain white rice, after the chef left the table I was left with no rice. I had to again get up to find a waiter to bring my rice. By this time my vegetables and meat were cold. We had four small children that ordered from the kids menu and were supposed to have gotten ice cream, we never got it. Asked for the Manager and his attitude was very unprofessional. Every complaint we had his response was "okay". Never once did he apologize for the very poor service we received. This was my very first time at this restaurant and I will never return.

People who should not spell should not write reviews. Is it really than hard? "Irresponsible" is pretty simple. It makes me sick to try to read these things sometimes. In any event, the food was fantastic at Hamada and the service was great as well. I have been to other Japanese restaurants with a better show, but I have never been to one with better food. The steak and chicken were both delicious.

We had a FANTASTIC time at Hamada! All of the food was great, you really get a LOT for your money! I recomend making a reservation, they get very busy. The waitress was very helpful in concocting a drink for me based off of what flavors I told her I liked. It's basically like getting dinner and a show when you watch your chef preepare your food for you! My friends and I can't wait to go back very soon!

This is my favorite restaurant. If I could afford to, I would eat here every day. My husband loves it too and he is very picky about eating out. My husband and I, always walk away feeling nice and full, and we get the added bonus knowing we had a healthy meal. The food is cooked fresh and prepared by very entertaining chefs. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to impress their date and who wants to get all their monies worth. I promise you won't be dissappointed.

a $13 tip was tabulated as $1300.00, causing 8 overdrafts to my account. $30 each and possible bad credit.
I cant believe how irresponsable this was. There are many other places to dine in the Tinley Park area.
No remedy is offerred- they seem to think this is funny.

I dont think I will go back.
