Good Mexican Food! written by

I stopped in for lunch. The outside on 11th St. doesn't look like much, and the inside isn't any better. But the Mexican soap operas playing on the two TVs indicated a true Mex, even though most of the diners were not of Mexican descent. A fairly extensive menu, but no 'lunch' specials, you just order off the regular menu. Prices were quite reasonable, and the servings were large. I got the al-pastor chimichanga, a deep fried burrito that was excellent, with large chunks of pork, fried crispy, overstuffed, and covered with Guacamole. Quite nice, and even though I got the 'medium' sized order, it was more than plenty for lunch, and later for dinner. I wasn't excited about the free basket of chips, and the salsa was bland (and not chunky, just somewhat thick tomato based). But, at least they did HAVE the free chips, which many Mexican places are phasing out. About $6 for lunch, quite good for two meals! Not the place to bring a first date, the atmosphere is tacky and needs updating. But my meal was great, and from what I saw of meals going to other tables, all fairly large and good looking. Definitely a place to try again, perhaps for dinner.
