I have been going to Chang Jiang since they opened up. Since then there has been no compliment - food is fresh, hot, and delicious. We celebrate birthdays (staff sings happy birthday and bring out a special treat for the birthday person). I go with co-workers and have taken family and friends. Such a large selection of hot food.
It was the best chinese buffet restaurant. They had really good service and the food was simply fresh and delicious. The cheesecake was even better than Cheesecake Factory's. It really exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I would definitly bring my family back. They have a large variety of salad and fruit.
Chang Jiang is by far the best Chinese buffet resturant I have ever eaten at. All of the foiod is very authentic and tastes excellent. Never dried out of old food on the buffet. The staff and the service they provide is top notch. Bottom line if you are looking for a good Chinese buffet with alot of variety and a casual atmosphere, this is your place.
Over the past four years, I have frequently (at least 20-24 times) visited this restaurant. The first time I went, I went with my fiance. Since then, I have gone alone, with family, with friends, and with colleagues. On all but one occasion, I have found the food quality to be superior to that of all but one of the (many) buffet-style Chinese restaurants I have ever tried. Indeed, the variety is amazing. So too is the freshness, both before and during rush periods. Further, whereas kitchen sanitation can be an issue particulary in high-volume buffet restaurants, here it appears to be quite good. The first time we went, my fiance, who is an executive chef, embarrassed me by peering into the kitchen uninvited. When he returned to my side, he announced it would be fine to eat there because things were "immaculate in the back." Though no one in any later party did a follow-up "look see," as the food has remained constant since, I must assume Chang Jiang maintains high sanitation standards. As to what one should not miss, at the buffet: crab rangoons are mild and sweet (sometimes slightly underfried, but usually perfectly done); mushroom-filled dim sum are almost too rich, but wonderful; egg foo yung is routinely the best imaginable, moist and well-seasoned; chicken oregano is powerfully flavored (though sometimes slightly overcooked, when it is done well it is special); lemon pepper shrimp isn't for the meek and mild, but is a spicy delight; Peking-style chicken is moist and moderate; Mongolian beef is true to its name, but great if you like hot and spicy; sesame shrimp is sweet, but filling. The service is also wonderful. I never have an empty water glass or cola glass for more than a minute or two, and never have to flag a waitperson for help. Only once have I felt that service was slow, and that was in terms of clearing used plates. All this, and the price is also nice. Usually, when alone, I leave with about $15 (food, drink, and tip) worth of damage done to my wallet and a belly so full I don't eat much for the next few days. I can't suggest this place strongly enough. In fact, a friend of mine and I plan on going there tonight.
