The resturant itself is small inside so be sure to make reservations for dinner on the weekends. We found this place about 2 years ago and we have been going there as our "special place to eat" because we love its unique character. The food is excellent and I Highly Recommend the "Special Salad" which is an enjoyable Italian blend and great to start off the meal. We have found the seafood to be a bit bland at times but the steaks and pastas are always a treat. A must see when searching for a new place to dine!

Got to go. Wonderful. Sometimes short on wait staff, but food is worth the wait.

Go for the steak sicilian or anything sicilian.

The choice of pasta or spuds is wonderful.

Even asked about vegies instead and was satisfied.

Both other two members of my family want to come back.

Caffe Greco is Rockford's Best Kept Secret written by minglewood23

Greco's Red Sauce is the best in town, with just the right amount of spice. Plus, Bernie serves great portions for the price. I love the Steak Sicillian covered in garlic butter cracker crumbs. My friend loves the lobster Ravioli in Alfredo Sauce. Be sure to make reservations on the weekend, this place gets packed!

Lousy service, mediocre food written by Dallas

Unbelievably poor service on a Tuesday night. Food average at best. Steak was less than grocery store quality. Tortellini was best of the entrees. Haddock was unremarkable.

So many people in town talked this place up....guess they don't get out much. Don't waste your time.

Nothing like the kitchen help hanging out in the bar smoking a cigarette.

Maybe it was just a bad night.

The food is very good. The service is usually decent. They are always busy so patience is important.

Unfortunately, my husband and I had a very bad experience with one waitress. She sat at a table talking with regular customers while ignoring us. When we finally got service she was very rude. I think she believed she wouldn't get a good tip from us because of our age. She proved herself right. My husband and I always tip at least 20%.
This was the only time I have ever not tipped.

After finishing dinner we spent a half hour waiting for her to come back so we could order dessert. When she came back she brought the bill. When we told here we wanted dessert she seemed irritated. She brought us dessert and then we had to wait another half hour to get our bill back. We tried to get her attention but she was sitting with other customers talking, with her back turned to us. We decided to get up and go to the bar for our bill. When we stood up, she handed my husband the bill and said, "Sorry Mr. Impatient." I thought that was rude considering we had been very patient all night. I don't mind waiting when the staff is working very hard, but I lose my patience when they aren't doing their jobs.

We have been back and the service was much better.
