We arrived at the Bolingbrook location a little after 8 p.m. and requested "first available" from the hostess. Another couple came in after us (with no reservation) and were seated before us in the non-smoking section. My question is, didn't we ask for “first available”? So why did a couple that came in AFTER us get seated first?
About 5 minutes later we were seated in the smoking section. The waiter came to take our drink order relatively quickly, however, did not come back for a long period of time. I started to look at my watch at 8:28 p.m. At approximately 8:40 p.m., a waitress delivered our drinks but was gone again before we could even ask her to take our order. Finally around 8:50 p.m. (over 25 minutes after we originally got seated), my fiance asked the hostess for a manager or someone to take our order. Finally, our waiter came back to take our order! He did not write anything down.
A manager delivered our food around 9:10 p.m. and my fiance’s order was incorrect. I asked whether she was the manager and then described all of our experiences up until that point. She apologized and offered a free dessert, etc. Shortly thereafter another waitress delivered my fiance’s correct order.
The whole time we were eating our meal, no one even walked by our table or even close to our table so we could get refills on our drinks. Finally, I went up to the bar and asked for refills myself and to order our free dessert! When our dessert was delivered, the waitress also dropped off our check. Again, there was no waiter or waitress that even walked by so that we could give them our credit card. We again went up to the bar to do it ourselves!
Our total time spent in the Bennigan’s in Bolingbrook, IL last night was one hour and 45 minutes!! The whole reason we even went to Bennigan’s was to have a quick dinner. How wrong we were! We had another bad experience with extremely slow service at that same Bennigan’s about 6 months ago and this is the first time we have returned. We are so unhappy with the service and vouched to never go there again!
