Great Salad.....Shish ka bob is great written by brew1985

We have been dining here for many years.Oh my goodness....30 years, Yes, occasionally the wait staff could be a little more personable. The food is always consistent. Some of the items we would suggest would be the shish ka bob as well as the turkey dinner. Soups are good. Salads are always crisp. Gived it a try.

Conveniently Located-Good Hours written by DressingOnTheSide

I stop here occasionally and find it a nice place to relax along the La Grange Road route. Dining in the bar area is a little cozier than the dining rooms. While the location and service are good and breakfasts/egg dishes are pretty good in the morning hours, the late night shift doesn't turn out a very good meal. But the only other thing open late night around there is White Castle.

Midget, Cow and 2 Blonds written by LaGrange

Stopped at this place for a late nite snack. Four waitresses for hardly any diners. Yet, service was non-existent. After a wait, I walked over by three of the waitresses and asked who was in my section as no one came over. Two busboys were hanging around but no water brought over or anything. I asked the real short waitress if she'd take my order and she just kept staring at her cell phone, didn't even respond. I asked her again and, without taking her eyes off her cell phone, she said, "I'm on break." The heavy set waitress kept staring at her cell phone and said it wasn't her section so she wasn't 'allowed' to get me water. Finally, I walked out and I don't think anybody cared or noticed. This could all explain why, on a late Friday night, with no other all-night restaurts around, no one was in there except me, a guy at the counter, and staff.

Coffee - That's All, Please written by DuPageDiner

Unfortunately, this is the only all-night restaurant around the area. It's unfortunate because the staff has a bad attitude, night and day - the I-hate-my-job-and-you feeling prevails from the minute you walk in the door. Even the owners act like they hate being there! Be forewarned that it's one of those busboy-turns-cook type kitchen staffs. Due to the convenience of the place, I've tried sandwiches, dinners, breakfast, and the place just doesn't put out a good meal. I only recommend the place for coffee and perhaps a slice of their bakery goods (brought in from elsewhere). Last night was an example of what happens there. We ordered at the counter to avoid the busboy with the I-hate-all-of-you attitude - a short guy with curly hair that's always there at night. The cook, called Sylvester by the waitresses, was watching us with his 'blank you, guys' look more than watching the kitchen. Through the opening in the wall, I could see him grab a dirty, used fry pan and start fixing a breakfast egg dish for one of us. After we got our food, we started staring back and he spent the rest of our time there with his back to us or out of view. According to one of my companions, the egg dish tasted like it was prepared in a dirty fry pan as the cheese omelet had an onion taste (likely left over from the last thing prepared in the pan). The fish chowder was mostly broth and basically old soup! It should have been discarded much sooner. The bread basket had hard croissants (which are usually good there)! Furthermore, service was not good. The waitress had to be approached for us to return the unsatisfactory food as she never came by on her own. (She wasn't far away - sitting at a small booth smoking a cigarette.) After approaching her on foot, she took one last deep drag on her cigarette, filled the air with smoke, and service improved. Later, nearby waitresses were openly complaining about there being too many waitresses for the amount of business they had. "They just hired a new server! Why?? No wonder we make no money!" This sort of conversation should not be held in front of customers. Upon leaving, the European guy at the register, perhaps the night manager, was very friendly. Perhaps he should be a waiter there! Unless you just want to stop by for a beverage while chatting with friends late at night, avoid Beef and Brandy at all possible costs until the management starts fresh with new help - from the staring cook to the complaining waitresses to the anti-customer busboy! This place is "a trip" that no one should have to take!
