I had a great time at Basmati. Their food was wonderful. However, since I am vegan, I have only eaten their vegan entrees. The Aloo Ghobi was the best dish that they had.

Food was always quickly delivered.

I've never eaten the buffet, but as with all food sitting out in the air - eater beware - bacteria float in the air.

Their individual entrees are great.

Service was wonderful - they were always curtious and helpful.

However, they do have fairly strict hours, so get there early enough so the cooks have time - I believe some of the staff have jobs that start after work and thus rush people out at closing some days.

Ambiance is classy. Dinnertime is a bit more formal, so jeans and a t-shirt might not be appropriate.

I have eaten at Basmati over ~40 times, even driving down there for the day from Chicago.

Excellent Place.. Never go there written by ilaiy

This is one of my least favorites places in Champaign. I have been here 3 times. The service just sucks.

Why it sucks ...

Been for a buffet when they were just about to close. They were all ready to throw us out.

He pre-charges tips on your bill .. I was thinking tips are what you would like to give when you like the service .

Quality of food .. Each time when I was back Ii always had an upset stomach.

They are better resturants to go .. I would personally advice any one not to go here. They are over priced with bad quality food ..

Any way these are my ideas about the place and they same for many of the people whom i know ..
