First, we ordered drink a regular ice tea and Coke but they serve Pepsi. The tea was cloudy with a gray film around the glass and tasted so bitter we had to send it back.
When the salad portion of our meal was brought to us the cucumbers we very mushy, the tomatoes were meley and bad all the way around. The romaine lettuce was brown from water damage and just unpresentable and should not of been served. When our lunch portion arrived the rice was a generic minute rice with no flavor. My kebab was over cooked and dry with no flavor and no kebab to speak of. It was just pieces of meat. They were not on a skewer. The hummus was tasteless and bland and not well blended.
I love Middle Eastern Food. I grew up eating it because of friends that we had and they were from Syria to Egypt. I could not believe that this was the food that I loved. I couln't believe that the Shish Kabob was so tatesless I mean no seasoning, not even salt and pepper. My Kafta was ok but the portions that they served were so small I thought it was from the appitizer serving. The hummus---well it defintiatly was not Carousel's in Glendale. The gentle man stated that he new the owner of Carousel and that he was much better. I think that he should be careful of what he wishes he was, then what he is not. I would not go back there if they were the last place in Riverside or the Inland Empire that served Middle Eastern Food. I'd go to Daphne's for the "middle eastern" food there.
Overall rating was BAD, VERY VERY BAD!
I got take-out once and bit into a rusty, metal thing in my spinach pie. Whenever I've ordered soda, it tasted like carbonated water.
Pita bread isn't very fresh, but the hummus is pretty good. Not a fan of the falafel, too bready for me. Love the zaatar bread and have heard good things about the shwarma (have not ordered it myself).
Friendly owner.
LAILA, THE COOK MADE SOME DELICIOUS SHAWERMA, ZATAR, HUMMOS, ETC. SHE WAS VER NICE. THE RESTAURANT IS SMALL AND COMFY. tHE WORKERS ARE VERY NICE. I ENJOYED MY EXPERIENCE AND I WILL DEFINITLY GO BACK. THE FOOD TASTED FRESH AND IT WAS COOKED BY MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
The restaurant was clean. I felt like I was at home. The food was delicious. Very middle eastern. I loved it. The service was excellent. It was nice that the waiter spoke arabic because I knew exactly what I wanted and I could talk to him in my own language. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.
Their food is fabulous. Their beef kabobs are cut from filet mignon. Beef and chicken kabobs were both moist and succulent. We also had hummus and tabouleh: very fresh and well made. You can choose to eat you meal outdoors, great for smokers. We've eaten here 4 or 5 times and enjoyed it thoroughly each time.
