THEY ARE VERY SLOW, THE FORGET THE ORDERS, THEY GIVE YOU DIFFERENT ORDERS..THEY DONT ANSWER WHEN YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN
DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.
Definetely will not go back or recommed the place - the food was not cooked to our taste. The bebrages seemed to have more tap water than anything else. And to my surprize, the bill was overcharged an additional 50% on each main dish ordered. I think the restaurant management is dishonest and should be held resposible.
My frieds and I have been to El Zocalo several times and we have yet to try a food that we have not liked, the food is exquisit. Both management and the food servers have been very polite and friendly. The decorations are very colorful, meaningful and cozy. They not only have the best service and food but they have the best Mariachi we have heard and seen. The Mariachi guys have amazing voices and are fun to watch. We will definetly go back again soon. I am glad that there's a restaurat that has everything we always look for, perfect customer service, delicious food and a fun environment.Love it!!

The service was lousy. The food never made it out. The manager never awknowledged us. Food was packaged to-go instead of dine-in. We were given a discount for our trouble only to find out they overcharged us prior to the discount. Will never return. Would not recommend. Bad experience.

I agree with the racism! I am hispanic and still got treated like crap becuase mu co-workers are not. It took 20 minutes to get 2 menus for a party of 8! Then after ordering we still didn't recieve our food after sitting there for an hour. I actually had to go to the back and tell them to box it up. I asked for the manager and he/she would not confront me. They offered our meals at 50% off but over-charged us for meals we didn't order. After returning to work, we all realized they didn't get one of our orders correct. the food is dry, the service horrible and the management even worse! All other hispanics sitting around us were treated with respect and served quickly. I will never go to or refer this place to my worst enemy!
We had dinner with my husband at El Zocalo. My husband is a demanding Gringo and the food was "deliciosa", great chile verde, and carne asada.
The flan was spectacular and the service was exellent, the place was almost empty and I think they need to do more advertisement.
We will be back.

We have had a weekend breakfast at El Zocalo in Tustin five or six times before starting to take friends and family there for lunch or dinner. Each time we have been there for lunch or dinner, we have been treated like crap unless someone in our party has been hispanic. The last time we ate there, our request for salsa was met with either the cook or waiter bringing out a bowl of indescribable crap - the manager thought this was funny and did nothing about it. Don't give your money to rascists!
We were seated right away. We were greeted right away.
The first time we were there to check out the restaurant to see if we wanted to brings our friends. I ordered a side salad but the waiter forgot to bring it. My husband ordered the chile rellano plate and I ordered the shrimp fajits. Both were excellent. My husband is Mexican is is fussy about his chile rellanos. My husband had to wait a while to remind the waiter to bring his flour tortillas.I never did get my salad. We believe in treating the people who wait on us with the utmost respect so we remained polite and understanding. We came back again with our friends. We had a table reserved. We particularly like the live entertainment. Our second time the food was again delicious.

I won’t go the the restaurant in Tustin the 2nd time. I ordered a fajita which is dry and not tender at all. The waiter did not bother to ask me what I want from the 2 things I can choose. They are busy counting their tips just at next table in front us. When I got the bill which was overcharged with something I didn’t order.(I hope it’s not intentional) And they did not honor the discount coupon which is valid. I think the restaurant management is dishonest
I discovered this gem of a restaurant, quite by chance when I took a wrong turn off the 55 fwy! Lucky for me as it turned out because I have been coming back ever since. The quaint decor is remeniscent of an old mexican villa, full of charm. I was initially impressed with both the food and quality of service and I am pleased to say its what keeps me coming back. The Zocalo offers a wonderful menu which includes an interesting variety of soups and the standard fare. They up things a notch by offering delicious specialty dishes, quality steaks, and seafood! Everything is fresh to order and very tasty. The salsa's are homemade and delicious but several of my guests have commented that they are a bit too hot for their mild palates! I recommend the Carnitas Michoacan or the Carne Asada platter, both are fantastic! However, my favorite is the "Ranchero Platter" which offers steak fajitas, chile relleno, AND enchilada all with delicious rice and black beans! They have a modest but interesting wine list as well.
One last thing, the service is excellent, the server will even bring you a sample to taste if you are unsure of what to order! The dishes range in price from $8-$20 and the portions are ample. Bring your appetite!
Great ambiance, vibrant colors decorate this huge, yet cozy feel to it, place. The only reason I gave it a 7 on service was simply because they came around too much for my taste asking if everything was okay. For those looking for what real mexican food ought to taste like, go here!
