angelos in sterling is a decent restaurant and a nice place to go to get a good meal and relax or have a few drinks with friends. but there rock falls location just always has better pizza. i think its that ancient oven they have in rock falls that just makes it taste better. but its still always been an overall pleasant dining experience.

I grew up with Angelo's since the original (I think it is actually the second location) in Rock Falls. It was a favorite of my family and after football games too.
I now live in AZ but still visit family in the area. EVERY trip requires a visit to Angelo's II. This is a much nicer restaurant than the RF location and has the same unique pizza and spaghetti sauce that became my baseline for all others.
I always loved the Angelo's Special pizza, the Italian subs (beef or hamburger) and the spaghetti sauce is the BEST! They still have it right after all these years.
I met another RF transplant here in AZ and a friend we have in common thought we were exaggerating how great the food was. Until this past weekend when he actually got to taste the food. He agreed that it was awesome.
I can say that here in AZ we have Rosati's - a find from when I lived in Chicago - which is about as close to Angelo's pizza as I have found. But I have never found a spaghetti sauce that even comes close to Angelo's spaghetti sauce! It is unique and outstanding.
The jarred stuff was a nice addition for those of us outside the area. It is CLOSE but not nearly as good. But if you add ground beef it is a suitable substitute.
And last but not least - the bread is also unique. Great texture and taste - not duplicated elsewhere.
The Twin Cities has a national treasure in Angelo's. I wish they would franchise!

From Michigan, down visiting my future in-laws. Went to Angelo's II. The food was pretty good but the waitress! OMG, that was the worst service I've ever had in my life. She was very rude. She rolled her eyes when I asked her a question, she made a wise comment to my sister in law. But it was more of a laziness than a rudeness about her. It's like she just didn't care. She never checked on us one time, she just stood there at the bar. Then she overcharged us but something was really fishy about it, like she meant to. My father-in-law said that he has had the same problems with her before and that he prefers one of the younger girls because they're much nicer than that particular waitress.
