Excellent place. Just up the street! Waitstaff trained and professional. A place for friends, lovers, family, senior citizens, and, of course, MSU (and other) students of all varieties, types and persuasions. Keep it liberal, Brent! I come for the food and fellowship, and I'm not even Christian! Everyone is so nice, and the wit and sarcasm run high (at least at the counter). Anyone for a crossword?

    Great Place with Personal Touch

The burgers are great - especially the olive burger. The french fries are homemade and taste great - not like the frozen mashed potato french fries you get from most places.

The breakfasts are excellent although I favor the jukebox hash. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. I especially like getting my good on real china with silverware that is a lot nicer than the usual restaurant tinware.

In summary, the Juke Box is a great diner, with good food and a real jukebox that plays the old 45's (which some people don't know enough about to appreciate!)

    Great place

Being a frequent diner of this establishment, I am confused about the comments that are posted on this site. First of all, it's nice to see decoration that doesn't involve MSU sports. I am not against that, but it's nice to have a break from that. As for it being overpriced, these people obviously don't get out very much. To the person that said Bell's and Lou & Harry's offered better value, yes they are less expensive, but you get what you pay for. Greasy foods abound in both of these places and you have to wait in line to get your food. Plus, if you like eating off styrofoam and using plastic silverware, have a good time. I will gladly pay these little extras and in reality there isn't that much difference in price. This place is a good value for families as well, the kids menu offers many choices that you can't get in anyother restaurant. A family of 4 can eat there and not ruin their budget. I will reccomend this place to all that will listen to me. Are they perfect? Not at all, but they work hard to ensure that you enjoy your visit.

    Poor Value

Pretty good food - we had breakfast foods (eggs, toast, etc). Everything was cooked as we had ordered and tasted fine but was not worth the exorbitant prices. However, the service was slow and sloppy. Our waitress was impatient and sarcastic. The restaurant was unclean and the decor incredibly tacky and the 50s jukebox-style music distasteful. This restaurant is entirely overpriced. Nothing merited the prices - not the food, the service, or the experience. Won't be returning.

    Wrong price for family diner

The place feels like a slightly nice family diner, but the prices do not reflect that at all. The portion sizes and accoutrements to main dishes were either non existent or lacking. Breakfast there is probably your best bet.

It's nice to see things like sweet potato fries on the menu, but their price is simply not worth the cup and a half of fries you end up getting.

I've visited three times, hoping to see a turn around, but really have no intention of returning. The nearby Asian House provides a much better lunch menu, and if you're looking for casual dining Lou & Harry's or Bell's down the street provide a much better value.

    Disappointing

While I have eaten at the Jukebox Grill several times (it is very close to my work), the food is mediocre. They make a good omelet but routinely get my order wrong--every time I order bacon on the side it ends up in the omelet.

My favorite thing on the menu is the Mediterranean grilled cheese. Unfortunately, other items are not as good. I've had a couple of items on the "specials" board: the Wisconsin cheddar cheese soup was horrible (very thick & "gloppy"), and their stuffed tomatoes had little flavor.

The atmosphere is OK, but there are many religious books scattered around the restaurant. This has never been mentioned to me by the staff, but I usually prefer that business owners leave their religion at home.

    Overpriced

Way overpriced for a casual diner. The food was great, but the service was only mediocre. In fact, they were on the whole very impatient and slightly rude. The music was annoying, the decor is tacky, and the place has an unclean feeling about it. Most likely will not be returning.

    Dining at the Jukebox Grill

Actually I have dined there several times and the food is always good. I have had the waffles and bacon for breakfast, the bratwurst for lunch, and the hamburger for lunch. They were all excellently prepared.

The service was prompt on two of the times, and casually slow on the other time.

The atmosphere contributed nicely to our dining experience.
The resturant exceeded my expectations and I have returned several times since my first visit.
    Great Place!
