Not only did I have a good meal combine that with the excellent wait staff and you have a fantastic combination, hot food friendly people and well stocked bar that comes with a wonderful Bartender (Jo Ann), co-owner Ray was gracious and thankful for our patronage, once again I would highly recommend this establishment
What I mean is, when my daughter and I went there for mother's day without a reservation, we asked if we could be seated or if it was Reservation Only. We were told absolutely not and we said we would be happy to just sit up at the bar and order probably a few appetizers and salad, etc. Well, we were ignored literally. When we wanted anything at all the waitress who was supposed to take care of us made a point of letting us know she was disgusted, did not care about us, wished we would disappear, however you want to say it, tried to make us feel like aliens. The manager ended up giving us our meal free once we finally had it, though some of it was cold, prepared incorrectly, sitting up in the kitchen and no one giving it to us, etc. An absolutely horrible experience. Another visit proved that the food is fine but the servers -- they must be told when they apply for a job there that they should have a BAD ATTITUDE. I can't stress this enough. My mother's day was totally ruined and even alka seltzer could not fix it :) It was just unacceptable to treat people like that.
Nice. The people were nice. Not over-bearing, not presumptuous, nice. The food was very, very, good, which was nice. There are a few exotic items on the menu, like Pasta with Wild Boar Ragu, which was very nice, not too wild. There is a seafood medly pasta that was also very nice, not real fishy. There are also venerable Italian items for people who fear something different. The house wines are nice, simple flavors selected to be enjoyed by everyone. The atmosphere was not too dark, not too loud, not too quiet, nice. The prices were not too steep, which was nice.
This is a casual, child friendly restaurant with adequate food and service. The food is affordable. We were not overly impressed with the food and even though it is near our home, we will unlikely return. Fonte D'Amore is across the street and has much better food and service, although it is more expensive.
I live in the neighborhood of Giulio's Cucina Italiana. I used to go to the restaurant that was there before called DePalma's. After DePalma's burned down we started going to Giulio on Plymouth Rd. The food and the service have been consistently outstanding. We like to have wine with dinner and have been impressed with the wine selection and prices.
Love the entertainment too!
