Todoroff's Original Coney Is

I grew up in Jackson, but moved away to Grand Rapids for school and stayed. When I visited my parents, we always hit two places: the Parlour, and Todoroff's. Since my parents retired and moved away, we don't get back to Jackson that often, but we do go there when we can for two reasons: the Parlour, and Todoroff's. Yes, it's that good. I used to love shopping days with my mom, because we would stop at the Coney Island restaurant in Paka Plaza (now Jackson Crossing). When that closed, we discovered Todoroff's. My dad worked nearby the old location (Ganson?), so we met for lunch sometimes. I'm telling you, I've tried "coneys" in Detroit, Flint, and Grand Rapids, and I can honestly say that they are nothing but chili dogs. I can open a can of Hormel no beans at home if I want a chili dog. A real Coney dog, as far as I can tell, can not be found outside of Jackson, Michigan. And there is none better than Todoroff's.
