  The atmosphere and food were great!! The service is always great and my husband and I eat there a lot. We call last minute and they always do their best to accomedate our time and party number, making it within a half an hour of our requested time, even just a couple of hours in advance.

  We were a party of 16 for a Birthday celebration! We had reservations for 6pm. The restaurant called our Birthday planner asking if 6:30 would be ok. We get there & they over booked the night telling us they didn't have a table. While trying to figure out if we were able to get a table, part of our group wanted to go somewhere else. Before leaving & 45 minutes later, a table was available to us. We sit down, the waitress told us she'd get our drink order after our meal order 'cause it was "real busy". Ya ok!! If that's what you call busy, then they are suppose to be prepared for that, right??? Anyways, so she got our order, remember this is a party of 16. She takes the order to the back, comes back to us for our drink order. The cook came out to make the food, this is when the salad and soup are to be served. We got the soup and salad after the rice was served! Our drinks are still not at our table, oh wait there come "some" drinks. By the time all the drinks were at the table the meat was served. The cook was WONDERFUL!! Very nice, funny, entertaining, just great!! The service SUCKED!!! After our meal, we were asked if we wanted ice cream, ALL of us ordered & NOTHING showed up!! Then the bill came, it was 2 bills, 8 people on each bill. We were all couples paying for our own, which is what we asked them to do, they said they would. After getting our 2 bills for the 16 of us totally @$1000 & after getting the AWFUL service we received, the manager still expected us to pay the service charge! I thought the restaurant was really pretty with the light up tables & lay out but the service & attitude from the manager, I WILL NOT RETURN!!!! Which sucks, but that's their issue, not mine! I enjoy TOKYO GARDEN on Ming!!!! They haven't let me down at all, they actually know us when we come in & are great with their service. If we're going to pay that much for dinner, I expect to have great service. Also I did not choose to go here, the Birthday girl did, I WILL ALWAYS CHOOSE TOKYO GARDEN!

  If you live in Bakersfield, try this place.
  You might feel it's a little pricy but you know, you get what you pay for.

  shogun is a plus to bakersfield.
  great food! service was a 10+
  had dinner/birthday party for 16 people and everything went perfect!!!!
  enjoyed the whole experience from begining to end.
  prices are not bad.
  and i would suggest to end dinner with the passion fruit ice cream...IS WAS GREAT!
