I have been a customer since will lets just say for as long as I can remember at least 35 years. The food here is so good that even though I moved 300 miles away 20 years ago, that there isn't a single trip back to the city, for whatever reason, doesn't not include stopping here to eat! As for atmosphere it is the same as it always has been right down to the mounted fish on the walls. It is the place that is just how you remembered it when you were a kid. The food, the service are always excellent, big helpings. Try it you will love it too.

This is no fish story but it is a story about fish. The cooking, serving and very enjoyable eating of fish, that is. My wife and I have found a new favorite, Scotty Simpson's. Our old favorite was one of the top eight finalists in a recent Detroit Free Press review, as was Scotty Simpson's. That review is what prompted us to give Scotty's a try. And were we well rewarded. The fish is absolutely superb. The accompanying fries and slaw were also great but the fish... ahhh, the fish is what makes this place great. If you go, treat yourself to a Stewart's Ginger Beer. You won't be sorry. I'm looking forward to future trips there to discover the perch and clam chowder. Be good to yourself and go. And don't forget the ginger beer. MJK

The best Fish & Chips in Detroit

Scottys is a humble resturant with a unique and easy going atmosphere. THe service is frendily but not pushy or overbearing. Your meal is prepared right in front of your eyes and the smell is captivating. Now lets get to the good stuff, the food. THe fish is fresh every day! It is lightly batterd and fried to prefection. Served with a side of homemade coleslaw and homemade fries, yes I said homemade. I will go back once a week!!!

I startted eating at scottys when Scotty was there. He was a trip, but the food was always right. I was first there about 1950 and am going tonight with a bunch of friends from Brighton and have hunger paines right now in antisapation. pull back your ears and dig in.
