We reside in Chicago suburbs and have a hunting camp up the Peshekee River Grade which we visit in the Spring, Summer, & Fall. We always make a point of eating at Mount Shasta on a Friday and/or Saturday Night. Last time we walked in we were surprised to find a live Yooper band - Black Pearl - two guys, three girls, and polkas to Eric Clapton and everything in between. There were a lot of single gals, young & old, dancing with each other, so we just got up and gave each and all of them a whirl. What a blast. Just so happens that the three of us all ordered Walleye, so now we're marked as them three Walleyes from Chicago! Nancy the owner is great, Sunshine is an excellent waitress (dreadlocks she calls 'em), Becky the cook is awesome, Teara who works inthe kitchen is a hoot, and Randy the bartender makes great drinks! This isn't a plug - they don't know us personally - but don't miss this place! WALLEYE TWO

Mt. Shasta provides a great dining experience in a cozy, informal setting. The menu of American fare is often complemented with seasonal and weekly specials that draw in both locals and seasonal visitors. The popular entrees and gourmet specials make dining at Mt. Shasta an adventure with a return ticket! The last time we ate there, the restaurant was very busy, but not too busy for a friendly chat with the owner Nancy Ferro, or her well-trained and hard-working staff.
