I started eating at Viet Houng when I was about 14 (13 years now!) and I won't eat Chinese food anywhere else. Their food is SO great and everyone there is extremely friendly. They have been closed for quite a few months now, due to building damage, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will reopen. I miss their food SOOOO BADLY! (Also, adding to the last review, Marie is EXTREMELY nice and always remembers the meal I get, along with everyone else's that regularly dine there!)
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa. I eat here at least 4 times a month.
Viet Huong is authenic Vietnamese food that specilizes in soup. My favorite is the V11 with chicken instead of the pork/beef combo. It is fresh and healthy! And yes, after you eat this bowl of soup, you will be stuffed because the bowl is HUGE. It comes with a plate stacked with fresh cilantro, basil and bean sprouts.
The service is fantastic, especially if you are fortunate enough to be there at the same time as Marie, the owner's daughter. Not only is she very pleasant to look at, her service is second to none and she actually goes out of the way to remember you and what you like.
Also, I highly recommned the spring rolls, which is V10.
The owner worked as an Intelligence Agent for the United States during the Vietnam War. He migrated to the US in the 70s.
The restaurant in near the NW corner of 21st and Memorial.
