We took four children ages 8, 9, 12 and 14 with us to have dinner at another Ethiopian restaurant that was not opened. We were lucky to find the Africana by default. Our hostess / server was very helpful and guided us through the menu. She also ensured a variety of spicy and mild foods to cover our varied levels of taste. The atmosphere was most interesting, the food aromas were exotic, spicy and inticing. There was an underlying odor of incense that made the restaurant more intriguing. We were the only pasty white caucasians not speaking an African dialect and were warmly welcomed. The food was served family style in one large bowl and we ate traditionally without silverware. The food was delicious! The prices were very reasonable. We all ate for around $50, even with an Ethiopian beer and glass of wine. We are looking forward to another visit and can't wait for another trip to Denver to eat at this hidden treasure.
