My husband and I have been going to Daly's for over 12 years. The food certainly isn't healthy, but it's comforting just the same. Their malts are excellent and I have yet to order a dish I haven't liked. I am particularly fond of the Philly Steak sandwich, while my husband loves the chili-cheese fries. The service has always been friendly and fast. I'm not sure what happened to the previous customer, but I am always more apt to be persuaded by someone who knows how to use spell-check before leaving a review.

I have also been a Daly's customer for 45 yrs or more, when we were kids it was a favorite, in our teens, still favorite, then we took our kids and it's still their favorite. My mother worked as a car hop often times, as did some friends, the Wayne County Sheriff's frequented, and Daly's was the place where policemen got their free coffee, and loved the chili. When my Mom worked two jobs, she bought frozen Dalyburger patties, and we were in heaven. I am sure that one might experience a bad meal now and then, but when brought to the attention of the manager, it was always taken care of. They were a family owned business, the kids took over when the parents retired, each had their own Daly's restaurant, many sold out, and one remains. Everyone I know is happy there is one left where we can still go and pig out on the best Dalyburger's and coneydogs, chilicheese fries, cherry vernors, cherry cokes, floats, banana splits, ever served in southeastern Michigan!!!

I have eaten at Daly Drive Ins for a least 45 years and have always found the food and the service very good. The one on Plymouth Rd. in Livonia is the last one of a small chain that used to serve the Detroit Area.
The food is always been very good to excellent. One must remember, this is not a "gourmet" restuarant, but a good diner/hamburger "joint". The Daly Burgers, with their special sauce, is a real treat. The Dalydogs, footlong coneys, are the best. The other menu items are also delicious.
I now live in Las Vegas, but my first stop when I come home, is the Daly's on Plymouth Rd. I have NEVER encountered the 2 situations the other person described.

Yellow lettuce is always a good sign that the place you are eating at does not care about the quality of their food. I asked the owner why he would allow that to occur and he informed that he couldnt help it if the cook didnt check the food. That was reassuring enough for me to picket the place on my lunch hour the next day. This place has to be the nastiest place in the city Of Livonia. Ink marks on the hamburgers the first time was not enough to stop me but the second time and the yellow almost rotted lettuce and the owners lack of caring was enough to get my lowest mark in Michigan. You're better of in a soup kitchen. One thats closed.
