Food is only OK prices are a little high. Fred's Pizza down the street is much better. Strangely so is Bud and Stanly's also on Four mile and Plainfield. I say this because I was under the impression that they were co-owned. Any way for my money Fred's Pizza is much better. The food there is much much better the employees are friendlier and the Drinks are even cheaper!
I've been going to Cheers for many years. Since the remodel, and the new menu came out, it has all the earmarks of a classic venue that will be around a long time. The location, on Plainfield has always made it a central point for long or short-term visits. Many extra features make it fun for all ages; karaoke, sports-based events / benefits, trivia, Keno, their own race-car. The list goes on... They obviously want to try to keep the presentation fresh and cater to everyone. Kudo's to the owner and managers of Cheers. My friends and I may end up as the new retired people in Turn 11 (the corner) that greet everyone as they enter.....just like on the TV show.
Never had a problem with cheers, Everytime I have been in there I always had a good time listening to kareoke and spending time with varius friends there. The food is average for any bar but has improved since thier renovation. I would recommend Cheers to anyone for food an or a place to go and have a drink
I had been going to cheers as a sort of regular since moving to the area...though the quality of food was only fair...i liked the crowds. On the day fo Mi. vs M. State, i was sure to get there about an hour eaarly to get a decent seat at the bar. There were only about 5 persons seated and I chose my seat. The bar maid ran to my selected seat and tossed 2 napkins in front of me. She then explained that some one had called and wanted the seat I had picked. She strongly asked me to sit some wher else...I did at another and better sports bar! The following business day I called the "GM?" and began to explain my disappointment but was told that the saets were being helfd for "regulars". When I stated that I have been going there twice per week as a "regular" she blew it off and wanted to know what I wanted...I said Cheeres should respect NEW customers as much as "regulars" and she rudley said "sorry about that". I have since told everyone I know about their lack of concern for their customers. Since they were so rude but concerned about 2 "regulars" they have now lost 2 locals that had been going there at least once per wek, my co-workers, our secretary and husband, my friend from Ionia and his family, an associate at Amway and the woman and her family who first recommended that I go there. As a former bar and restaurant owner i am happy yo recommend Charleys on Plainfield...food is much better and the service is always "customer friendly" ! There are so many better places that appreciate your business and respect your wallet! Stay away from Cheers!
