I ate at the Blue Moon 4 years ago and had a wonderful meal and overall experience. We own a vacation house about 20 miles away so don't eat out much in the area. We decided to go out last night as we had guests in town. I went online to find the phone number of the Blue Moon and came across this website so I read the other 3 reviews. Based on the other reviews, I was nervous going back and probably would have picked another restaurant if I hadn't had a good experience before. We decided to go to the Blue Moon anyway and are so happy we did. We had an amazing dinner, great service, and a relaxing evening. The seafood sampler is incredible and very large. We also tried the black and blue steak, a specialty, and the ahi. Everything was delicious! We also noticed a cool area off the bar that has outdoor seating, comfy chairs etc. We didn't go into the bar, but this also looked like a fun place to hang out on a warm evening. I highly recommend Blue Moon.

Our visit to Blue Moon was our first and will be our last. The Azteca soup was beyond bland and the calamari starter was mushy. I had the black and blue steak and the bad meat was overcooked and over "blue-cheesed" My fiance' had the pork tenderloin which she had exactly one bit of before pushing it away. We had them re-cork our wine so we could leave. It was a good thing we asked for bread the third time because it actually came so we had something edible.

Never in my dining experience have I ever had a steak better than the one I had at Blue Moon. The Aribica rubbed steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor ecploded in my mouth. The Tuna steak that my wife was was delicious. What a hidden jewel you have there! It had to be the best dining experience I have had in a long time.

The worst ever
I have never experienced a nightmare like dining at the Blue Moon in Saugatuck. My steak was a piece of fat puncuated by bits of tough beef. The chicken penne was made with dark meat. The buckwheat noodles were saturated with soy sauce to a point of being inedible. The "legendary" twice baked potato was a cheese encrusted potato soup, and the lime cilantro salad dressing was basically oil with a dash of lime juice. But this was just the icing on the cake. The owner has got to be the most obnoxious person I have encountered to date. When we complained about the noodle dish being too salty, he had the nerve to tell us he tasted it off our dish and it was fine. Perhaps in his obviously limited culinary experience. My family lives in Saugatuck and dines out nightly. You can bet we will never again be treated to the horror that is Blue Moon bar and grille
