This place has the best & freshest carne asada tacos in town! The music is always playing loud, and you can frequently hear Martin himself singing from the kitchen. Ingredients are always fresh and consistent food is a mainstay. Hip, but accessable, it's THE spot on Fourth Ave. for authentic Mexican food.
Martin has it all going on here; fabulous food, great service, location and pricing. He's a wonderful guy who really cares about his food and it shows. My vegetarian friend raved about her vegetable torta made with his fabulous soy chorizo. My chicken mole torta was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned with just the right blend of mole spices. Martin took it upon himself to walk across the street to get us some sorbet when we asked if he had any frozen desserts. Who could ask for better service? The seating outside on Fourth Ave. is a perfect spot for people watching and you may even BYOB. Try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
For my reception dinner, as I was to be married, and I did so successfully, Martin was able to provide beans, rice, chips and salsa (quite possible the best in Tucson), and calabacitas that have surpassed the 'cut-and-paste' method for making Mexican food in Tucson. The food was delicious, devoid of excess grease often found in Tucson, and uncannily beautiful. Martin puts a lot of love in his food, and it shows.
I loved this place for the two years i was in tucson. Martin himself makes a mean vegetarian chorizo to go in the burritos!
Its a little spicy, but awesome! There is nothing you can go wrong with at this place! Salsa and chips with every order are grand and homemade as well! Funky atmosphere with lots of love put into the whole experience. Martin will ask you specifically if you want this or that in your burrito and will even throw in extras at no charge...He works hard...support this place!!!
