I've eaten at Ayse's many times, and I'm the five star type. Ayse's is country Turkish food. It is not American. Don't expect a burger. Expect fresh salads with ingredients and spices you've never had, subtly flavored soups and stews. Anything with lamb is a delight. If you don't like lentils or cauliflower or stuffed grape leaves, you don't have the educated palate to truly savor the subtle home-cooked flavors at Ayse's.
The other review of this restaurant at this site was apparently written by the owner. No way this restaurant gets a 10 in anything!!! The food was either tasteless or ill-flavored, the staff can hardly speak English and was more interested in each other than in serving customers. I won't be back.
Unbelievably good Turkish home cooking -- I've eaten here hundreds of times, and just about every time I've been blown away. Order at the counter and then take a seat. Menu changes nightly but almost always includes stuffed peppers, which are a good place to start if you're unsure. Awesome soups, sides. No alcohol. Simple yet extremely tasteful atmosphere.
