The Wave is by far the best dance club/ bar i've ever been too. The food is great made by one of the best cooks in 757 even though its mainly snacky kinds of foods its still awesome. The Bartenders are the best, fastest, and the most friendly in the area. Not only is the staff friendly and helpful, the entirety of the people that attend this bar are nice and are just there to have a good time. The Wave is inviting to both gay and straight club goers and anyone who is looking for an awesome night-club experience.
I usually go on Thursday nights which is considered 80's night where most of the music played is mid-late 80's and some early 90's and some newer music scattered about. The industrial decor compliments this bar extremely well and the layout is perfect (very hard to get lost). Many say this bar is in a bad part of town (Ghent area of Norfolk) but i've been there more times than i can count and have never encountered a bad experience. The only way anything can possibly happen to you is if you are absolutely stupid or amazingly intoxicated. I usually don't drink outside of my own home and i consider myself a pretty intelligent person so i've never experienced such scenarios.
Overall, The Wave is definitely an experience. If u like to dance and have a great time in an amazing atmoshpere this is the place for you.
Cover charge ranges from $3-$13 depending on age (21 and up being the cheapest cover charge; 18 and up being more expensive for obvious reasons) and depending on the night attending. Special events such as guest DJ nights are also usually more expensive. Thursday nights are $3-$5.
" The people there are friendly and wont judge you because you don't look like them... "
