This was a good "first" for my party of three. We were seated promptly around 4:00 pm on Easter w/o reservations. Based on the attire of the staff, we felt a little under dressed in khakis and jeans. We and were relieved to see a wide range of styles as we made our way to our table and completely relaxed as the staff made us feel welcome. Crystal, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable, and very helpful with a good mix of professionalism and personality. Each of us agreed the prime rib, filet mignon and seafood platter entres were excellent, as were the stuffed mushroom appetizer and strawberry La Bamba dessert we shared. On the downside, the dining room was a little cramped and the vinyl table cloths were out of place in an otherwise attractive upscale tavern atmosphere (crackling fireplace with deer adorning the rustic brick walls). Prices in this cozy place could be justified by removing some tables and covering the rest in linen. The $55 for two drafts, appetizer and king cut prime rib (enough for two) is what one might expect to pay in finer Old Towne Fredericksburg restaurants. I'll be introducing my wife to this establishment upon our next visit and recommending it to others in the meantime.

Beautiful atmosphere. Tables are too crowded together. I hated hearing others' conversations at nearby tables. Waiters wonderful. Attentive. Try everything on the menu. It's simply delicious. Reservations helpful. The salmon is delicious. This is a very nice restaurant for anniversaries, romantic dinners and birthdays, special occasions or just a nice night out with your husband (or wife). Save room for dessert as they are all delicious.
