nice except for the cigarette smoke written by oceanview

First impression: a bit put off. There were only a few patrons at dinner time on a Friday night. The furniture and fixtures lacked any appeal.

The music, a mix of Christian and secular, played on the radio quietly giving a relaxed feel for dinnertime conversation.

We ordered chicken tenders, broiled flounder, crab stuffed flounder, and she-crab soup. The food was good. The she-crap soup tasty.

Our waitress was pleasant, friendly, cheerful, and attentive. :)

Overall, the prices were a tad high for the home-cooked meal, $75 for 5 people.

We will not visit again for only one reason: other patrons lit up cigarettes driving us out of the restaurant before we were finished (a serious health hazard to the asthmatics in our family).

Just like a home-cooked meal written by eshine

My friend and I went to try this restaurant and we were very pleased with everything. We ordered the night's special which was fried flounder with hushpuppies, cole slaw and fries. Everything was excellent, the fish was so fresh, it was like it had just been caught earlier in the day and they breaded and fried it right when we ordered it - no pre-cooked or pre-breaded anything. We also got the steamed shrimp to-go and those were just as fresh and perfectly done! Our waitress was the nicest server we've ever had, she was constantly making sure our drinks were filled and she was very down-to-earth and friendly.

Over all it was a great experience, a really nice family style environment - they even have a game room - the decor was lacking a bit, but they made up for that in great food, great service and good old fashioned southern hospitality. We'll definitely go back.

Hit or miss written by swatson144

If you haven't figured it out from the other revues it's a hit and miss place. Sometimes the food is great and other times it is garbage. The Pizza is usually safe, as is the special. I live near it and eat there occasionally. The wait staff is sorta like family they try but aren't very professional. It's not like they don't care, more like don't know how. Good luck is needed to enjoy a meal. I'll return simply because it's neighborhood.

Nice family restaurant written by anonymous

The surrounding family atmosphere is a plus when you are dining alone. The Greek salad was great. The homemade potato salad was also great. The experience was enjoyable and I intend to keep coming back. The fried flounder was delicious and the prices are affordable. I am new to the area and felt very welcome and plan to return.

Do not eat here! written by Laura

There were only two of us. The restaurant was not crowded at all. We were never acknowledge so we seated ourselves. It took at least 5 minutes before a waitress showed up. She had no knowledge of ingredients and then proceeded to get the drink order wrong. For an iced tea and Sprite? We ordered the she crab soup as an appetizer. No self-respecting tidewater restaurant would serve this crap. You could taste the raw flour used as a thickening agent instead of cream. We waited another 30 minutes and we finally got our two burgers. One was not at all what was ordered and they really skimped on the fries. I had to request an iced tea refill 5 times. During all of this, the phone rang off the hook and fellow diners were also restless. I saw at least 2 plates returned to the kitchen. $30.00 later and an hour and fifteen minutes later we were out the door. We could've gone to Ruby Tuesdays or Francos for that. I will never return.

just plain awful do not eat there at all written by treasa

totally disgusting food, owners take no pride in what is served or how it is served, hamburgers gave me diarrhea, waitress are slow with no manners and no idea what they are doing, would rather socialize and flirt then do their job and owners don't care about the complaints, they are only interested in the money.

good casual place for local fare written by anonymous

I enjoyed our experience. I had the crab cakes, my wife had a club sandwich. Portions were plentiful. Plenty of variety on the menu. Even our kids enjoyed their meals. I was able to speak with the owners and enjoyed their conversation. This restaurant is a good staple for the community!
