My Mother used to take me to El Toro when I was little. I always had the cheese enchiladas and the chips with their special recipe dipping sauce. On my honeymoon, my husband and I went to Va Beach. I had to go back to see if it was as good as I had remembered. I was prepared to be disappointed but I got a terrific surprise. The atmosphere is nothing to rave about, but we were led to a clean table in a clean booth. We were at once presented with a basket of chips and their amazing dipping sauce by a very friendly waitress. Although they have moved locations, the food is the same as it was thirty years ago!!! Their enchiladas are unrivaled their rice and beans are way above average (and I live in a Texas town that borders Mexico). Although they will not divulge the recipe for their dipping sauce, they do try to ship it to folks who ask...once you taste it, you will have to have it! I can't wait to get back to the east coast, and as soon as I do, it will be off to El Toro for me!
