We visited El Paso Cafe last Tues night-8/7/06 for the 1st time and were very impressed with the food, drinks and atmosphere. The queso dip was excellent as well as the quesadilla and margarita! An added benefit was the music. There was a wonderful singer/songwriter playing guitar and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing him. We will definitely be back and hopefully our experience will be as great as it was this time. Please continue to have the live music. It added so much to our dining experience!
This is a fun restaurant for dinner with friends or for parties. Not too romantic, but certainly date-worthy. I had been mourning the death of good Mexican food in Arlington since the demise of Speedy's in "old" Ballston (before it got trendy), so I was thrilled to stumble on El Paso. I have found the wait staff to be pleasant and helpful. They also have an impressive tequila selection, but being a wine drinker (and wimp), it's not really a drinking place for me. I agree with the first poster that their margaritas are tasty, and that the addition of a bar would be a plus.
Great casual place to meet friends and family. Children are welcomed. They have large group tables as well as cozy tables for two. I'm from South Texas and this is my place for good mexican food. Oh, don't forget their fabulous margaritas, sangria and beers. The only thing missing is a "sit at" bar for hanging out before or after the meal. Very good service all the time. Mom & Pop type place. Wear your jeans and enjoy.
