I eat here often. I was here before new management bought it out last year and I still continue to eat there. Mostly I go for the hibachi grill because it's a fun experience (most times... with the right chef). I must admit that the food is sometimes bland (imagine your steak hiabchi tasting like JUST PLAIN meat.... my daughter can grill better than that!) but sometimes you get lucky and get great food. If you are weak at the stomach BEWARE of the inital smell and the dirty carpet and DO NOT, under any circumstances, use the restroom there... you will completely regret your visit!

No Japanese person would eat there. There was not one Japanese employee there. Not even the sushi chef was Japanese!! The sushi rice was cold as if it had been refridgerated overnight. The sushi prices were not published which should have been an immediate red flag for us!! And because we were a party of 5 they automatically added a 20% gratuity!! I have five children so we're a party of 7 when we go out to eat and I have never been charged 20%. At Maggiano's little italy we were charged 18% gratuity, because we were a party of 9. It was completely worth it because the food was excellent. If you're looking for authentic japanese cuisine do not eat at Shogun sushi, but if you like throwing money away, then go for it!

The food was really good although the Filet Mingon was too grainy for that cut. Portions are excellent - maybe too large. A more authentic dish with shrimp was excellent. The service was slow. The ambiance is a little too bright. We'll go back, but it won't be more than a once/year spot for our family.

While other people seemed to have a "terrible time at a place where no Japanese person would eat," I had a fantastic time. The food, while not perfect, was quite good. The service, while a tad slow, was not anything to complain about. The waitresses were polite, friendly, and, most of all, helpful. The main courses were excellent. I had the Fillet with Chicken. The meat was very tender and had a lot of flavor, while the chicken was succulent and juicy. After my meal, the Owner of the restaurant came up to me and inquired about my meal. I took this as a very kind gesture, as the people who own and operate don't feel the need to ostracize themselves from their patrons. We talked at length before I had to depart, but that was definitely a reason that I will be going back. Overall, it was a great dining experience that I hope to have at other places in the future.

Service frantic. Food mediocre. Had sashimi - tuna/salmon/red snapper.

Lots of kids running all over.

Worst was the head of staff nitpicky about a 5cent error on our bill (their fault)...I would have given them the 5c
Head of staff very brusk women screaming at our waitress (Stacy) while we were ordering. Amazingly bad form.
